Please not the following all-star rule changes as they relate to A and B division players. Any men's league player listed as an all-star whose all-star status was derived strictly from B league numbers shall NOT be considered an all-star in the men's A league. Any coed league player listed as an all...

Re: All-Star Formulation

To keep the list formulation process simple and transparent, we will use the RUNC (runs created) divided by G (games played) formula. Men's and coed all-star restricted lists can be accessed from the Important Announcements forum atop the league message board or you can access the current and cumula...

From The Gutter / Week 10

Keith O hurls a 3 games over 627 to give Little Lebowksi the 5-2 nod over Glory Bowl. I Can’t Believe it’s Not Gutter edges past PPB 4-3 in spite of 3 games over by Mr. Consistency Bob Kolecki (182, 188, 182). PC Squared continues winning ways with a 5-2 win over The Bowling Stones. CJ3 tosses a 3 g...

Re: Coed League All-Star Restricted List

Bill Roth has requested and been granted the status of designated eddie (de) effective Spring 2019. DESIGNATED EDDIE (de) (coed only): Any eddie whose fielding skills have become diminished to the point he/she can no longer play a position other than catcher can apply to the league for the status o...

Re: All-Star Formulation

It is my hope to have the men's and coed league all-star lists posted next week. The top 100 men's and coed players from 2018 will be on the list.

Special thanks to Greg Thompson, Bill Shipe, and Ryan Russell for their invaluable help in bringing the new formula to fruition.

From The Gutter / Week 9

With 4 regular season weeks of bowling to go, every team in each of the 4 division remains in contention. While not mathematically eliminated, some need to get a move on. All 6 teams in the West are within a week and a half’s worth of points. 4 of 6 in the East and 5 of 6 in the North are in the sam...

Re: All-Star Formulation

Gene, your passion for softball is admirable. If you weren't so passionate, you wouldn't give a damn. I know you care and I know you only want to make the league better. I respect that in you. I will now offer you my opinion. "All Star lists for Men is counterproductive in any B LEAGUE, the only tim...

Re: All-Star Formulation

Excellent!!! Here's your chance to build a better mousetrap, Geno. Put together a round table meeting. Greg T. is very good with numbers. So is J. Toto. I'm sure there are other numbers gurus in the league that would be happy to help. Come up with a process to formulate and maintain a men's and coed...

Re: All-Star Formulation

There cannot and will not be separate all-star lists for A and B league players. There is no feasible way to monitor where players are/will be playing from season to season. Also, some players play both A and B at the same time. I am, however, considering making a stipulation in the league rules tha...

All-Star Formulation

A new formula to determine men's and coed league all-stars has been proposed to help determine 2018 all-stars for 2019. This new formula is based on the equation RUNC (runs created) divided by G (Games Played). The original formula, the one the league has been using since 1999, takes into account R%...

Kevin Fink erupts with a 3 over 540 as SUaR takes all 7 from Pocket Pounders. Straight Shooters 5 - PPB 2 as Dan G and Donna B ...

Gutter Humiliation humiliates the Pin Splitters, taking all 7. Kevin D tosses 3 games over. GH extends West lead. Suds can only lather up a pair of points from a no-show Big Heads. Split Heads splits heads en route to a 7-zip pummeling of The Nines. SH flashed solid bowling team wide as they pull cl...

PC Squared roars to the top of the North with a 7-0 pounding of the no-show Pocket Pounders. Patty Motts has the team on her back with her 2nd straight 3-game over series. Re: Proposed Housing Development at Quarry

My understanding is the Eureka Quarry has maintained ownership of the 4 acres where the ball field sits although straight answers are next to impossible to come by in the world of politics. Whether the Quarry ball field remains ours to use is something we won't know for sure until the ink on the lea...

From The Gutter / Week 5

Less than a week’s worth of bowling points separate the top and bottom seeds in both the East and West Divisions. North and South teams are a little more spread out. Finger Poppin over Incredibowls 5-2. Ho-hum bowling on both sides of the rack. Gutter Humiliation takes 5 from Wu Tang on 3 strong fro...

Re: 2019 USA Softball Rule Changes with Comments

The only change that will have any impact on us is the change to Rule 5, Section 3A. Rule 5, Section 3A: All games played using a Time Limit will be considered Regulation Games regardless of the number of innings completed/played. Comment: Specifies that all games ending as a result of the Time Limi...
