Re: Opening Day 2020

If any Sunday Coed teams are looking for a female, the following free agent is dying to play. She has been waiting patiently since March 2nd for a manager to reach out and give her a shot. Put me in, Coach. I'm ready to play, today. Name: Suzanne Bellezza City: Horsham State: Pennsylvania Zip: 19044...

Re: Opening Day 2020

From what I understand, Bucks and Montgomery Counties will move to the green phase on Father's Day weekend. If that is the case, Opening Day will be Monday, June 22nd. It is also my understanding the number of people allowed at a green phase gathering has changed from not more the 25 to not more tha...

Opening Day 2020

Opening Day for the 2020 softball season has been tentatively set for Monday, June 22nd. Now that Bucks and Montgomery Counties are in the yellow phase of the COVID-19 reopening, it is my hope the green phase will not be far behind. I think it best to at least set a date so everyone can begin to pre...

Re: Coronavirus

With the exception of Central Bucks School District, area ball fields will open once the Governor moves us to the green phase (see township updates below). Central Bucks School District Good Morning Les, I hope you are well. Dr. Kopicki made the hard decision last Friday evening to keep our building...

Re: Coronavirus

Quite a few league members are under the misconception that we will be able to open our 2020 softball season on June 5th (yellow phase). I wish that were the case. According to the state of Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Facility Reopening Guidelines, we cannot open the season until either or both...

Re: Coronavirus

A comfort level has very little to do with whether we play softball or not. Yes, I'm sure there are some that will not play out of fear, but my guess is the overwhelming majority want to and will play softball as soon as possible. When Governor Wolf opens up the state to recreational team sports, we...

Re: Coronavirus

Opening Day for the 2020 softball season has been postponed until further notice. The government needs to open the state up to organized recreational sports before we can even think about playing softball. When that will be is anyone's guess.

Re: Coronavirus

As much as people may want to believe softball is an essential business, unfortunately it is not. The PA Government mandate states we cannot open and we cannot play until further notice. If/when the Governor opens things up, we will open the season and play ball. While the Quarry ball field is priva...

Re: Coronavirus

Opening Day is now tentatively set for Monday, May 11th. I can't speak for individual township ball fields, but if the Governor opens things up, we will play at the Quarry. Hopefully, Hatfield and Horsham Townships follow suit. Telford Borough has just notified me that their ball fields will continu...

Re: Coronavirus

Of course, if local municipalities open ball fields sooner than 5/1 and the Governor allows recreational facilities to operate before then, we will begin play.

Re: Coronavirus

I have to admit I wasn't expecting this virus to take off the way it has. Being an eternal optimist, I really thought things would be getting back to normal by now. So not the case. If anything, it seems to be getting worse by the day. It's like a bad dream that you can't wake up from. Being so clos...

Re: Coronavirus

At this point, Opening Day has been tentatively set for April 13th (Monday Coed). God willing, local, state and federal government guidelines will have eased up a bit by then. League member safety has always been and will remain at the forefront. Social distancing shouldn't be a problem playing soft...

Re: Coronavirus

CB School District, Hatfield Township, Telford Borough, and Horsham Township have all closed their facilities for at least 2 weeks. These closures include the ball fields we play on. While the Quarry ball field has not been mandated closed by any state or local authority, quite a few of the managers...

Re: Coronavirus

I will be reaching out to league managers, umpires, and scorekeepers in the not-too-distant future asking what their thoughts are on starting the softball season on time considering the Coronavirus situation. I will not force anyone to play/work under these circumstances if it their choice not to. A...

Re: Coronavirus

At this point, Central Bucks School District and Hatfield facilities are off limits- CBSD until the 14th of April, Hatfield until further notice. I am playing this situation on a day to day basis. There is a possibility we will delay Opening Day by a week or 2, or at least until we can get toilet ti...

Nancy's Snack Shack

After many decades of serving hot dogs and drinks, Andy Suder is stepping down from running the Quarry snack bar. Nancy and the Razzi family will be taking over at the helm of the ball field refreshment stand. The Razzis plan to serve the usual drinks and snacks and if things work out, weekly specia...

That’s How We Roll takes East title with a 5-2 win over Split or Swallow. Little Lebowski Urban Achievers came up just a little short by failing to beat (cover) the no-show Split Happens in Game 1.
