Re: Sunday Evening Bowling 2021/22
The good news is there will be a bowling season this year. The bad news is there are only about 2 days left (11/7 deadline) to register a team. 12 teams have committed thus far. Opening Day is November 21st. Start time is 8:00 pm. 3 games with 3 bowlers and you should be home by 10 pm. It's a laid b...

Re: Men's League Seasonal Records
Regardless of what happens with the hits record, what's even more impressive is the score keeper in 1998 and in 2021 was none other than the First Lady of Softball, Nancy Razzi.

Men's League Seasonal Records
Two long-standing seasonal league records are on the verge of being broken. After 7 games and 23 at-bats in the Sunday Morning Men's league, Jonn Poore (Doom Cats) has 21 hits and is batting 913. He needs 1 at-bat to qualify (24) and nothing less than a perfect day at the plate (1/1, 2/2, etc.) to b...

Re: State of the Quarry
We are moving ahead with the infield/outfield trim work once the season ends. Tim O'Shea will create a soft grade from midway between the baselines and where the infield meets the outfield. The shaved infield mix and topsoil will be used to fill in any outfield drop-off that remains. Sod will be ins...

Re: State of the Quarry
I'm sorry to say the Quarry light fixtures are still on the West Coast, caught in the supply chain BS. I won't get them in time for installation this year so we will hold off until Spring 2022.

Re: All-Star/Eddie Requirements / 2022
What is being compared here is a concept. Pro leagues most certainly do have all-star rules only they are in the form of high-salaried player rules. The better the player, the higher their salary. Pro teams are only allowed so many high-salaried players (all-stars) before it pushes them over the cap...

Re: All-Star/Eddie Requirements / 2022
All of the organizations below use a 'governor' to keep the competition level real. They must all be crazy. It's a wonder they survived all these years. National Football League (salary cap) National Hockey League (salary cap) National Basketball Association (soft cap + luxury tax) Major League Base...

Men's Fall Classic 1-Pitch Tournament 2021 / Statistics & MVPs
A fair and balanced statistical formula is used to produce MVP winners. It does not favor the power hitter, nor does it favor the player that hits for average. The formula takes into account at-bats (9 plate appearances required for consideration) H (hits), (R) runs, (RBI) runs batted in, OBP (on-ba...

Re: All-Star/Eddie Requirements / 2022
Thanks Ryan and Bill. Your input is really appreciated. You guys made some great points that have stimulated the 3 brain cells I have left. The reality is a lot of us players earn co-ed all star status and simply stop playing co-ed. Our social circles from men’s teams lend itself to us mostly all be...

Re: All-Star/Eddie Requirements / 2022
Thanks Ryan. I appreciate the input. And thank you Bob. Your post made me laugh out loud. Assigning a dollar amount to each player and maintaining that from season to season, year to year would be an incredible amount of work. So much so I would have to hire people just to keep up with it. The all-s...

Re: All-Star/Eddie Requirements / 2022
If the strong A division teams agree to abide by the pre-COVID restrictions, we should not have a problem. If they don't agree to abide by the pre-COVID restrictions, one of 2 things is going to happen. Either the strong A teams will play in a very small league of their own and play 2 other teams mu...
