Men's and Coed All-Star Restricted Lists / 2021

Post by sixofdiamonds »

I know some league members have a hard time trying to figure out who is and who is not an all-star and/or who can and who can't be released from the list. I will now attempt to make it easier for everyone to understand how it works.

When opening the All-Star Current Status file https://cuttingedgesports.net/statistic ... ns2022.htm for men and https://cuttingedgesports.net/statistic ... ed2022.htm for coed, you will see the complete list of all-stars. This list contains all the players that have made the all-star list over the years. If they were petitioned off at some point over the years, their name will no longer appear on this list. It does not matter if a player hasn't played in Softball America in, let's say 5 years, that player will remain on the All-Star Current Status list until they prove themselves unworthy of being an all-star by having a poor statistical year while accumulating enough at-bats to qualify. An all-star that only has a few at-bats and doesn't do well would not qualify to be removed. The at-bat requirement is 36.

Now if you see a name on the All-Star Current Status list and are wondering if that player can be removed for this year, go to https://cuttingedgesports.net/statistic ... or2022.htm (men's league) or https://cuttingedgesports.net/statistic ... or2022.htm (coed leagues). Read below for a more robust explanation of these lists.

Men's League
If a player is listed in red, that player is a men's league all-star for this year and cannot be removed from the All-Star Current Status list. If you scroll down and you see a player listed in green, that player is not a men's league all-star and can be removed from the list if in fact that player is on the All-Star Current Status list. If a GREEN player is not on the All-Star Current Status list, that means he was not an all-star last year and will not be one this year. Players listed in gray did not have enough at-bats to qualify to either make all-star or be removed from the list. In order to make a determination on a player listed in gray that is also on the All-Star Current List, you would need to notify the league office. I would then go back to the last year the player did qualify and determine if that player can be removed.

Coed League
If a player is listed in red or blue, that player is an all-star for this year and cannot be removed from the All-Star Current Status list. The red indicates a player made coed all-star off his coed numbers. The blue indicates a player made coed all-star off his men's league numbers. If you scroll down and you see a player listed in green, that player is not a coed league all-star and can be removed from the list if in fact that player is on the list.
