Just a reminder, the snack shack will not be open during the 1-pitch tournament.

Another reminder...

It is imperative the ball field is left in good condition. If it turns into a landfill as a result of the tournament, we can all kiss the tournaments goodbye. That is not a threat. It is more of a guarantee. The ball field owners (Eureka Quarry) will not hesitate to pull the plug on us. Please keep that in mind when you pack up your stuff and leave at the end of the day.

From the FWIW (for what it's worth) department, here is my take on the tourney...

The strongest team statistically is Team 2 with an average career team batting average of 548. The second strongest team is Team 3 (521). Team 1 is only a point behind Team 3 at 520. Team 4 sits at 502 with Team 6 and 5 at 499 and 482 respectively. What does it all mean? Diddly squat! The games are played on the field, not on paper. May the best team win and if nothing else have fun and enjoy the day.

While I agree that non-quantifiable factors like day-of-tourney player readiness, team chemistry and resilience, and luck (especially in a one-day tourney) will all play big roles, I nevertheless find this quite interesting.

I'd be curious to know the breakdown if you looked at average career team slugging percentage, since extra-base hits tend to lead to greater run production.

OK, Bill. The team with the most 'pop' is Team 1 with an average career slugging percentage of 832. The next most 'pop' is Team 3 at 815. Team 2 is a couple of percentage points behind Team 3 at 813. Teams 5 and 4 are next at 785 and 778 respectively. Team 6 is your prototypical 'Punch and Judy' team at 684 that can single you to death.
