 It was HOT today

Game 1: Amber Inn v Ballz Deep

Amber Inn had a solid day scoring multiple runs in multiple innings. Singles and an error pushed across two runs in the first to give them an early lead. In the 3rd Corey Carlin hopped on the banjo and played some sweet sweet music as he cranked a two run dinger. Doubles from Marc McKinney and Carlen, combined with a triple from John Graves propelled the Amber Inn squad to a 4 run 5th inning. In the 7th the boys of Amber Inn knocked around 4 singles, plating 3 runs, but that would be all they could manage in this one.
Ballz Deep was able to get two runs in the first as well as both Jason Falcone and Jacob McDevitt doubled. In the 2nd they blew the game open as they would bat around scoring 8 runs via singles and a three bagger from Mr. McDevitt. They followed that up with a four run 4th inning courtesy of singles and a two run double from “merry” Jerry Blasio. Andrian Reyes made his mark in the 5th as he doubles and scores on another McDevitt triple. SIngles and a sac fly would plate another for Ballz Deep in the 6th to close the door on this one as they hold on to win 17-12.

Game 2: Misfits v Ballz Deep

The Misfits come into the game as one of the most dangerous teams in the division. In this one though they would struggle to get the offense going until late in the matchip. They managed their first run in the 5th inning as singles and an error plate 1. In the 7th a late rally would see 4 runs score as Chris Quinn whalloped a double and Zac “gotta get up to get” Downs cranked a two RBI triple.
Ballz Deep continued their torrid hitting steak on this hot day. They would push across three runs in the first on singles and a sac fly. Following that up, it would be a scorching hot JAcob McDevitt who hammered a two run bomb in the 3rd to increase the lead. Another bat around would see the Ballz Deepers scoring 7 runs in the 4th inning as singles, fielder’s choices and a double from Adrian Reyes did the damage. Joltin’ Joe Dimezza joined the extra base hit party in the 5th inning knocking home two with a double. Final score in this one: Ballz Deep 14 - Misfits 5

Game 3: One Hit Wonders v Misfits

The OHWs came out smoking the ball early as they would plate 3 runs via back to back doubles from Bill Groff and Andy Springer. They would add another run in the 2nd on an error and another Groff two bagger. Two more runs would cross the fabled pentagon in the 3rd as this time it was Rob Gisondi doing the heavy lifting with a double of his own. A Paul Ferruzzi double helped push across a run in the 5th and singles would add an additional tally in the 7th for the Wonders.
The Misfits took advantage of the short handed Wonders as they would crank the ball around the yard to the tune of 6 runs in the first inning, highlighted by doubles from Walt Zolna, Joe Torres, and Jimmy Cooker, a triple from Zach Downs and a homer from Glen ‘ not big baby” Davis. The 2nd inning would see more of the same as they would bat around scoring a devastating 9 runs by way of doubles from Grof and Cooker, triples from Quinn and Rico Jones, and a Joe Torres three-run bomb. Mr. Torres would strike again in the 3rd inning as he would smoke an RBI double. Singles and a Glen Davis double plate three for the boys in the 4th, and another Zach Downs triple would plate a run in the 5th for the victors 20-8.

Game 4: One Hit Wonders v Yankee Clippers

Avenging an earlier loss, the OHWs cranked the ball all over the park in the 4th game of the day. They would plate 3 in the first on singles and a Rob Gisondi double. Three more in the 2nd on a double from Jack Stepnowski and a three bagger from Bill “the thrill” Groff. A soul crushing 8 runs in the 3rd inning came by way of walks, doubles from Dave Ketterlinus and Shawn McCaughlin, and a triple from Rob Gisondi. They would score 6 more in the 4th as this time the same trio all smacked doubles to lead the way. For good measure they would bat around for the 3rd inning in a row and once again score 6 in the 5th inning as this time it was DEEP homers Andy Springer and Paul Ferruzzi Jr. doing the damage.
The Clips got a run in the 1st inning to cut into the deficit by way of 3 singles. They would battle back in the 3rd inning as well batting around to the tune of 8 runs, highlighted by doubles from Nick Wasekanes, Mike O’Conner and Conner Laigale, and a homer from Wasekanes as well. In the 5th inning they would nearly bat around as well with Andre O’Donnell cranking a three run homer, highlighting a 5 run inning, but unfortunately all the batting around killed the clock in this one and the Clippers would fall 26-14.
