Game 1 – Hambinos at Isotopes
The Hambinos struck first blooding, going up 2-0 in the top of the first, but it was the Isotopes that came to play in the first. Led by back-to-back 2-RBI doubles from Howard Miller and Trevor Lane, they put up a touchdown and a two, taking the early 8-2 lead. But Hambinos would battle right back, using a leadoff triple from Mike Hilt and a big 3-run bomb from Anthony Stevens to climb back to within one. In fact, they tied it up one inning later as Joe Pizzola led off the third with a triple and later scored.
In the bottom of the third, the Isotopes went back to work, using an RBI triple from Justin Berry, a 2-run round-tripper from Paul Mizvitowicz and an RBI double from Shawn Mitkus to reclaim a 4-run lead. But the Hambinos had a huge counterpunch of their own to throw. In the top of the fourth, 11 players reached base safely, including RBI doubles from Nick Heller, Mark Peasley, and Mike Hilt. 9 runners crossed the dish in-all, giving Hambinos their first lead since the top of the first, 17-12.
Hambinos would add 3 insurance runs in the sixth, thanks to a Bob Gower RBI double, before the Isotopes attempted their rally. They managed to plate 3 in the sixth, thanks to doubles from Trevor Lane, Marc Miller and Ryan Greenberg, but went down 1-2-3 in the seventh and came up short.
Final Score: Hambinos 20 Isotopes 16
Player of the Game: Mike Hilt went 3 for 4 including a double, triple, RBI and 2 Runs Scored.

Game 2 – Magerks at Jackhammers
A pair of singles helped to post 2 on the board in the top of the first for Magerks, but the Jackhammers quickly tied it up thanks to an RBI double from Mike Zahradnick. Magerks would nab a 5-2 lead thanks to an RBI single from Ryan Bell in the second and 2 runs on 3 hits in the third.
It was small ball the rest of the way, with both teams trading singles and runs like they were baseball cards. Down 1 in the bottom of the seventh, the Jackhammers needed some magic, and they got it thanks to doubles from Mike Zahradnick and Jason Cooper, knotting the score at 7.
FREE SOFTBALL
In the top of the eighth, Blaze Contino sacrificed himself to score the courtesy runner, and then Jeff Tongue smashed an RBI triple, giving Magerks a 9-7 lead. But in the bottom half, the Jackhammers kept small-balling their way to runs, and Kevin Rosini provided the RBI single to knot the game once more. Unfortunately, time ran out and this one ended in a tie. Yuck, you guys kissed your sister.
Final Score: Magerks 9 Jackhammers 9
Player of the Game: Mike Zahradnick went 3 for 4 plus a sac fly with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and a Run Scored.

Game 3 – Pitches Be Crazy at The Expendables
I’m not gonna sugarcoat this one…it wasn’t pretty.
In the bottom of the first, the Expendables used back-to-back triples to score 2 and take the early lead…and that was the best inning of the day for Pitches Be Crazy.
In the second, an RBI double from Jon Beard helped the Expendables to put up 4 more runs, extending their lead to 6-0. 4 more runs in the third, this time thanks to a 2-RBI triple by Pete Donnelly.
Pitches got on the board in the top of the fourth, as Shane Ardito smacked an RBI double, helping his team to score 2. Then came another 4 runs in the bottom half for the Expendables on the backs of a whole bunch of singles.
In the fifth, after another scoreless inning for Pitches, Dan Altemos capped off the great day for the Expendables with a 3-run bomb, putting them up 17-2 and enacting the 15-run rule.
Final Score: Expendables 17 Pitches Be Crazy 2
Player of the Day: Dan Altemos went 2 for 3 plus a sac fly with a triple, homerun, 5 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.

Game 4 – Baron Von Fritz at Hattricks Sports Bar
Chris Salanik wasted NO time in this one, blasting a solo homer for Baron on the first swing of the game.
After the bomb, the teams went scoreless until the third, when Baron put up 3 runs on 4 singles. Hattricks responded by halving the lead on a trio of their own singles.
A pair of costly errors early in the inning helped Baron to tack on 4 more. In the bottom half, Ron Gallagher smacked a double, helping Hattricks to once again half Baron’s lead, now 8-4.
Now ahead 11-5, Baron Von Fritz pressed the gas pedal one more time as they sought some insurance runs. The inning was capped off when Tom Mantoydes smoked a ball for a 2-run homer, putting his tea up by an even 10. In the bottom half, Tyler Roetman did his part, kicking off the inning with a triple. He’d score two batters later, but that’d be all she wrote.
Final Score: Baron Von Fritz 15 Hattricks Sports Bar 6
Player of the Game: Tom Mantoydes went 4 for 5 including a homerun, 3 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.
