Game 1 – Pitches Be Crazy at Isotopes
The Isotopes jumped out to an early 6-0 lead thanks in large part to Howard Miller’s 2-run triple. In the second, though, a trio of doubles from Tyler Gilliard, Josh Thomas and Kevin Carver helped Pitches to half the deficit. One inning later, the Isotopes got those 3 runs right back, again thanks to a Howard Miller 2-RBI triple.
In the fourth and fifth, Pitches chipped away at the 6-run deficit, getting one run in each inning. Then in the sixth, they closed the gap to 9-8 as Kevin Carver and John Aiken each doubled. After the Isotopes tacked on an insurance run in the bottom half, Pitches took their first lead of the game in the seventh, using 2 walks and 3 singles to plate 3, giving them the 11-10 lead.
But in the bottom half, the Isotopes went back to work. After a Mike Rafferty RBI double, it was Ryan Greenberg’s RBI single that ended this one.
Final Score: Isotopes 12 Pitches Be Crazy 11
Player of the Game: Howard Miller went 2 for 2 plus a sac fly, 2 triples, 5 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.

Game 2 – Isotopes at Hambinos
4 singles helped the Isotopes to jump out to a first inning 2-0 lead before the Hambinos doubled them up in the bottom half, capitalizing on a Mike Mulvhill 2-RBI double. The teams traded runs in the second before the Hambinos built their commanding lead in the third and fourth. Joe Pizzole smacked a double in the third en route to 3 runs, and then a big RBI triple from Bill Peters helped plate 3 more in the fourth, as the Hambinos took the 11-4 lead.
In the top of the seventh, the Isotopes tried to rally. After loading the bases with just one out, Trevor Lane cleared them with his RBI double. He’d score one batter later on Dan Wilson’s RBI single…but that’d be all they could muster.
Final Score: Hambinos 11 Isotopes 8
Player of the Game: Joe Pizzole went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a Run Scored.

Game 3 – Expendables at Hambinos
After a quick run from the Expendables, Spencer Slutsky kicked off the bottom of the first with a double en route to 2 Hambino runs, giving them the early edge. But from there on out, it was all Expendables.
2 scored in the third as Bill Larkin smacked an RBI double. Mike Constante led off the fourth with a double and Larkin capped it with a 2-RBI single as their team plated 4 in the inning. Matt Keller’s RBI double plated 1 in the fifth, and then Jon Beard’d triple and Ray Brittingham’s double lit the path to 5 runs in the sixth. In the seventh, the Expendables tacked on 6 insurance runs via a trio of doubles from Mike Sheridan, Constante, and Matt Keller.
Final Score: Expendables 19 Hambinos 4
Player of the Game: Bill Larkin went 5 for 5 including a double, 4 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored.

Game 4 – Jackhammers at Hattricks
3 singles for the Jackhammers and 2 doubles (Kyle Cortelli, Josh Graef) for Hattricks amounted to a 2-2 ballgame after one. And then it was all Jackhammers…
5 scored in the second as Bill Moore smashed a 3-run bomb and Tom Finn galloped to an RBI triple. After Josh Graef’s RBI double helped to plate 2 for Hattricks in the third, the Jackhammers went back to work in the fourth, scoring 6 more. Chris Day kicked things off in the inning with a double, and Mike Zhadnick put the exclamation on it with a double of his own. In the fifth, Chuck McClinton doubled and Bill Moore scored 2 with his RBI single, and then 2 more scored on a trio of singles in the seventh.
Hattricks came to the dish in the bottom of the seventh trailing 17-4. With 2 outs and no one on, Collin Murray singled…and would find himself stranded at first to end the game.
Final Score: Jackhammers 17 Hattricks 4
Player of the Game: Bill Moore went 3 for 4 with a homerun, 6 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.

Game 5 – Jackhammer sat Magerks
Magerks, the home team, kicked off the scoring in the first, using 3 singles to plate 2 runs. The lead was short-lived, though, as the Jackhammers smacked 3 singles of their own to take a 3-2 lead. But it’d be their last lead of the day.
In the bottom of the second, MaGerks loaded the ases and Steve Korpalski (no relation to Kelly) notched an RBI single, followed by an RBI double from Jim Malloy as their team scored 4 runs. Single runs in the third and fourth extended the lead to 8-3 before the Jackhammers closed the gap.
Kevin Finn’s 3-RBI double in the fifth narrowed the MaGerks lead to 8-6. Then Bill Moore doubled and later scored, bringing the Jackhammers within 1 run before MaGerks exploded again in the sixth.
Jeff Tongue kicked off the inning with a triple. Then a handful of singles and a 3-RBI double from Denny Nicholson spelled doom for the Jackhammers. They did manage to get 3 hits in the seventh, but only scored one run…not nearly enough.
Final Score: MaGerks 14 Jackhammers 8
Player of the Game: Denny Nicholson went 4 for 4 with a double, 4 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored.

Game 6 – MaGerks at Baron Von Fritz
This was truly a tale of two games.
In the first half, it was all MaGerks. An RBI single from Brian Hilbert scored 1 in the first. A 2-RBI double from double from Jim Malloy scored 2 in the third. A 3-run bomb from John Green (not the author) scored 3 more in the fourth, giving MaGerks a 6-0 lead.
But then came Baron Von Fritz. A 3-run homer from Evan Porter in the bottom of the fourth halved the lead. After 2 MaGerks runs in the top of the fifth, Chris Salanik smashed a 3-run homer for Baron in the bottom half in route to a 6-run, lead-changing inning. A trio of singles tacked on 2 insurance runs in the sixth, and then Baron shut the door in the seventh.
Final Score: Baron Von Fritz 11 MaGerks 8
Player of the Game: Evan Porter went 2 for 2 plus a walk, a homerun, 3 RBIs and a Run Scored.
