B North 5/19

The rain cleared, the skies turned blue and softball ensued… Lets take a look at what week 3 brought to the North… Guarantee it was more eventful than Game of Thrones last episode..

Game 1: Sons of Pitches v Yankee Clippers

The Yankee Clippers take an early lead in this one as singles and errors plate 3 in the top of the first. The Pitches would answer back getting a run in the bottom half of the inning as Paul Elliot smoked a double and scored. Back to back to back extra base hits from Nick Todd, Lonnie Snyder, and Rich Brazukas would plate three for the Yankee Clippers as they would extend their lead to five. In the 3rd they would push the lead out further as both John Bennett and Mike McDevitt would double and score. The Sons of Pitches cut into the deficit in the bottom of the 3rd as Brett Keszcvk cracked an RBI double and scored one batter later. The rest of this one would belong to the Yankee Clippers. They score 5 in the 4th via a homer from Brian McGuire, a double from Andre O’Donnell and triples from Rob Shuck and John Bennett. McGuire would also launch a solo HR in the 5th to extend the lead. Triples from Bennett and Mike O’Conner would push across two additional runs in the 6th and two 3 run bombs from Maguire and Shuck would put the game away in the 7th.

Final Score: Sons of Pitches 4 - Yankee Clippers 22

Game 2: Insurance Runs v Misfits.

The Insurance Runs jump out to an early lead as they plate 4 runs via singles and a Brandon Quinn two bagger. Misfits would fire back in the bottom half of the inning, plating 5 of their own by way of back to back to back doubles from Joe Torres, Chris Quinn and Rico Jones. The middle innings of this game would belong to the Insurance Runs as they plate a sultry 5 runs in the 3rd inning on singles, errors and a Seth Mattleman double. They would follow that up with a bat around in the 5th inning with singles and errors accounting for 6 more runs. The bottom of the 7th saw the Misfits make a crazy comeback as they struck for 4 runs on errors and a huge Jimmy Cooker triple but that would be as close as they could get in this one.

Final Score: Insurance Runs 15, Misfits 9

Game 3: Dark Horse v Insurance Runs

Paul Harding got the party started for Dark Horse as he stroked an RBI double in the first to put them up early. Insurance Runs answered the bell with a resounding 6 run outburst on walks, singles and errors. The IRs would extend their lead in the 4th inning as they would plate another 6 runs on walks, singles, and a three run tater from Josh Hannum. In a crazy turn of events, unlike the finale of Game of Thrones, something shocking and exciting did happen as Dark Horse crushed the ball the last 3 innings. In the 5th they would plate 7 runs in a bat around, highlighted by a Ryan Shock double and a Bill Jones triple. After adding two additional runs on errors and singles in the 6th inning, they would burst into the lead in the 7th, scoring a whopping 6 runs on singles, errors, and doubles from both Paul Ferruzzi Jr. and Sr.

Final Score: Dark Horse 16 - Insurance Runs 12

Game 4: Ballz Deep v One Hit Wonders

Ballz Deep would jump out to a huge lead in this one as they score 9 runs across the first 3 innings. In the 1st, they whalloped in 7 of those runs via doubles from Jason Falcone, Adrian Reyes, Tom Campbell and Justin Glennon, combined with a three bagger from mean Gene Walczak. A Campbell double and Walcizzle RBI single would plate the run in the 2nd and in the 3rd it was Justin Glennon doubling again and scoring. The middle of this game was a plot twist as the Wonders smoked home 3 runs in the 4th inning via doubles from Andy Springer and Jason Hammer, and a resounding 13 runs in the 5th on walks, 10 singles and a Jack Stepnowski double. They would follow that outburst up with a rare 3 K inning in the 6th. (Shrug) Ballz Deep hammed home 3 runs of their own in the 5th inning by way of a Jacob McDevitt triple and another Justin Glennon double. They would also scratch out a run in the 6th on errors and a fielders choice.
