Pitches Be Crazy at Hattricks
Low-scoring affair in this one. Pitches kicked off the scoring in the top of the first as Cosmo Mullen walked and Jeremy Adams singled. They’d each later score, one on an error and one on a fielder’s choice. In the fourth, Zach Lyall doubled and later scored, extending their lead to 3-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, Hattricks fought back, putting up three of their own as Josh Graef blasted the ball out of the park.
All was quiet until the bottom of the sixth. Ron Gallagher singled for Hattricks and scored two batters later on Collin Murray’s double. And that’d be all she wrote.
Final Score: Hattricks 4 Pitches Be Crazy 3
Player of the Game: Josh Graef went 2 for 2 plus a walk with a triple and a homerun, 3 RBIs and a Run Scored.

Hambinos at Hattricks
In the top of the first, Nick Heller doubled and then Mark Peasley blasted a 2-run homer, giving the Hambinos the early 3-0 lead. But an RBI triple from Collin Murray in the first and a 2-run bomb from Josh Graef in the third quickly put Hattricks on top.
Back-to-back homers from Tyler Roetman and Basil Papaniclopoulos in the fourth extended the lead and then a monster fifth, which included doubles from Graef, Ron Gallagher, and John Scott put the game seemingly out of reach at 13-3 for Hattricks.
Peasley smacked his second homer of the day for Hambinos, but it was a solo job and didn’t do much to cut into the lead.
Final Score: Hattricks 13 Hambinos 4
Player of the Game: Graef was once again the straw stirring the drink, going 2 for 4 with a double, a homerun, 3 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored (and a second homer that counted as an out!).

Jackhammers at Hambinos
This one got ugly early and stayed that way. 7 singles and RBI doubles from Bill Moore and Tom Finn gave the Jackhammers the early 9-0 lead in the top of the first. Doubles from Brian Pestridge and Finn extended the lead to 14-0 in the second, and then Mike Zaradnick’s Grand Slam in the third really squashed any thoughts of a comeback for Hambinos after their mini 2-run rally in the top half.
Leading 22-2, Zaradnick smacked a 3-run bomb in the fourth, helping to extend the lead to 30-2 and forcing Hambinos to score 8 just to keep the game alive. They scored none, and the game ended mercifully.
Final Score: Jackhammers 30 Hambinos 2
Player of the Game: Mike Zaradnick went 4 for 4 with 2 homeruns, 9 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored. WOW!

Baron Von Fritz at Expendables
Baron got things started early when Evan Porter smacked an RBI double en route to a 3-run inning. A leadoff triple from Jon Beard started a promising inning in the bottom half for the Expendables, but he’d be the only one to cross the dish that inning. However, in the second inning, the Expendables got it going again, this time capitalizing with 5 singles and a clutch 3-RBI double from Joe Kindt, making it a 9-4 game after two.
Evan Porter solo homered in the third, and then Chris Salanik launched an RBI double in the fourth as Baron clawed back to within 2, but Dan Altemus’ 3-run homer and B2B doubles from Pete Donnelly and Joe Weeks put the Expendables back up by 8 after four. Altemus homered again in the fifth, this time a solo job, and then his team tacked on two more to extend their lead and provide some insurance.
Down 18-7 in the top of the seventh, Baron attempted a comeback. First, Porter homered again, and then Tom Montvyoas and Dan Keith managed B2B doubles. They’d both score, but that’s where the rally would end.
Final Score: Expendables 18 Baron Von Fritz 10
Player of the Game: Evan Porter did all he could in a losing effort, going 4 for 4 with a double, 2 homeruns, 4 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored.

Isotopes at Magerks
The game of the day for sure:
5 singles in the top of the first helped the Isotopes put up an early 3-0 lead, but Brian Hilbert’s double and Bill Schubert’s 2-RBI single cut the deficit for Magerks to 3-2 in the bottom half. In the second, Magerks took their first lead, as Blasé Contino and Joe Bernat led off the inning with B2B doubles and then Steve Walker blasted a 2-run bomb. It was 5-3 Magerks after two.
The Isotopes tied things up in the third, and then retook the lead in the fourth on Justin Berry’s 3-run homer. The scoring wouldn’t end there, as Trevor Lane tripled and Marc Miller, Shawn Mitkus and Berry all doubled, helping to plate 8 runs in the inning once the dust settled. But then Magerks had an inning of their own in the bottom half, also scoring 8 runs. The damage came on a slew of singles and timely RBI doubles from Jim Malloy and Hilbert.
The offensive outburst slowed after that combustible fourth. Jeff Tongue launched a solo homer in the sixth, giving MaGerks the 14-13 lead, and then Berry tripled and scored on a sac fly in the seventh to send the game to extras.
The Isotopes offense woke up for the eighth, using 6 singles and a key 2-RBI double from Ryan Greenberg to put up a touchdown. Needing to wake back up themselves, MaGerks just couldn’t rise from their slumber, scoring one lone run in the comeback attempt.
Final Score: Isotopes 21 MaGerks 15
Player of the Game: Justin Berry went 5 for 6, hitting for the cycle in the process with 2 singles, a double, a triple, and a homerun. He also had 3 RBIs and 5 Runs Scored.
