Game 1: Harrigan’s Pub (Tropics) vs. Dirt Stars

Harrigan’s Pub is awarded a 7-0 victory via forfeit.


Game 2: Harrigan’s Pub vs. Philly’s Phinest

Philly’s Phinest strike first, plating three runs in the bottom of the first on a trio of singles and a two run double off the bat of Ed Rocks. Harrigan’s wake up in the top of the second after waiting around after their first game was forfeited and scored five runs by drawing five walks (three consecutive at one point), hitting a sac fly, and poking a pair of singes. In the bottom of the frame, Philly’s Phinest scrape a run back on three singles. In the third, Cody Runner leads the inning off with a triple, then a pair of singles and a sac fly push three runs across the dish for Harrigan’s. Mike Rocks, Sr. doubled and later scored as Philly’s Phinest score a pair and cut their deficit to two runs. Three runners score for Harrigan’s in the top of the fourth on a walk, a fielder’s choice, two singles, and a Cody Runner double. In the top of the fifth, Harrigan’s keeps it rolling thanks to Shawn Thome cranking a double to score another pair of runs. Chris Rocks drives a run in on a single for Philly’s Phinest in the top of the sixth. Neither team would score after that and the game would end with Harrigan’s on top of Philly’s Phinest, 13-7.

Man of the Match: Cody Runner (3-4, 2 R, 2B, 3B, RBI)


Game 3: Bulldogs vs. Dirty Dozen

Bulldogs draw first blood in this one, scoring three in the top of the opening frame thanks to a single, three free passes, and a double from Mike Suda. Dirty Dozen get on the board in the bottom of the first with a run on three base hits. In the top of the second, Bulldogs bat around and put up six runs with two walks, four singles, and two and three run homers from Paul Burtis and John Hogan, respectively. James McHale smacked a solo big fly in the bottom of the frame, scoring Dirty Dozen’s lone run. In the bottom of the fourth, doubles from Mark Meredith and Kyle Landis combine with RBI base knocks from Mike Ivers and James McHale to plate three for Dirty Dozen. They keep it up in the fifth, getting doubles from Alex Metz, Ben Vitelli, Anthony Mumenthaler, and Kyle Landis, plus back-to-back triples from Mark Meredith and Mike Ivers to total six runs and taking their first lead of the game at 11-9. Bulldogs respond immediately in the top of the sith, tying the game on two singles, a sac fly, and another Mike Suda double. In the top of the seventh, they take a two run lead as Shawn Dunn smacked an RBI triple then scored on John Hogan’s base knock. Dirty Dozen go down 1-2-3 in the final frame, losing to Bulldogs 11-9

Man of the Match: Paul Burtis (2-3, 2 R, SF, HR, 4 RBI)

Game 1: SCLSU Mud Dogs vs. Amber Inn

Mud Dogs get on the board first in this one as Brian Figueroa launched triple to right field, plating a run, but he got thrown out going home to end the inning. Amber Inn take the lead right away, drawing two walks and smacking four singles to score five. In the top of the second, Mud Dogs rip five singles to score three, finishing their turn down just one run. In the bottom of the frame, Dave Graves hits a rare two-run sac fly to left center, accounting for all of Amber Inn’s runs that inning. The next inning, Amber Inn score two more on a walk and four singles. In the fourth, Amber Inn, plate another pair after a two out triple from Mark McKinney and three straight singles. Amber Inn then bat around in the bottom of the fifth by forcing an error, poking seven singles, and with John Graves clearing the bases by ripping a triple. After holding Mud Dogs silent for several innings now, Brian McMackin puts the final nail in the coffin by driving in a run to enforce the mercy rule. Amber Inn put down the Mud Dogs 19-4.
