Game 3: Harrigan’s vs. Bulldogs

Greg Thompson smashed a two run big fly in the top of the first, getting Harrigan’s on the board in style. Bulldogs wait until the bottom of the second to reply, doing so by batting around and scoring seven runs featuring a Paul Burtis double and a three run dinger from Mike Suda. In the top of the third, Harrigan’s cuts their deficit to one thanks to a six run frame on six singles and a Jay Mykrantz double. Paul Burtis launches a three run bomb in the bottom of the third as Bulldogs score four and extend their lead. They add a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth with a sac fly, Anthony Bates hitting an RBI double, and Paul Burtis singling to complete the cycle. In the top of the seventh, Harrigan’s pokes three singles to plate a run, but they couldn’t manage any more. Bulldogs downs Harrigan’s 13-7.

Game 4: Dirt Stars vs. Dirty Dozen

Dirt Stars strike first, plating two in the top of the first on a walk, two singles, and a sac fly. Dirty Dozen snatch the lead with three runs thanks to an Alex Metz double and a Mike Ivers RBI triple. Angelo Vitantonio triples in a run in the bottom of the second as Dirty Dozen tack on one run to double their lead. In the top of the third, Dirt Stars keep pace with one run as Dan Curran ripped a double and was driven home by Mike Davis. Dirt Stars then retake the lead with a four run frame with Dan Curran and Bob McHugh smacking back-to-back doubles. In the top of the fifth, they tack on another run after drawing a walk and hitting three singles. An Alex Metz sac fly plates one run for Dirty Dozen in the bottom of the fifth after being held silent for a couple of frames. Dan Owens rips a double in the top of the sixth, scoring a run for Dirt Stars who find themselves up four. In the bottom of the inning, Dirty Dozen start off with five straight hits including a Ben Vitelli double and a two run triple from Kyle Landis as they score six runs to take a two run lead. Unfortunately, Dirt Stars would only manage a pair of hits in the top of the seventh, falling to Dirty Dozen 11-9.

Game 2: Philly’s Phinest vs. Amber Inn

Ed Rocks leads this one off with a base on balls and ended up scoring the first run of the game to get Philly’s Phinest on the board in the top of the first. Amber Inn respond with a four run bottom of the first that included doubles from Phil Kallatch and John Graves and a triple from Dave Graves. The top of the second produced a run for Philly’s Phinest via a few singles and a walk. Amber Inn tack another one on in the bottom of the second thanks to Kevin Noone’s RBI double. Philly’s Phinest then smack a few singles, get a double from Tony Summers and a triple from Ed Rocks to plate three and tie the game at five in the top of the fourth. Amber Inn retake the lead in the bottom of the frame, scoring one run on Carl Ervin’s double. In the bottom of the sixth, three more runners score for Amber Inn as Corey Carlen roped a double, Dave Graves smacked a triple, and Mark McKinney went yard. In the top of the seventh, Philly’s Phinest manage to load the bases with two outs, but a strikeout ends the game with Amber Inn prevailing 9-5.

Game 3: Mud Dogs vs. Philly’s Phinest

Both teams go down in order in a rare no-hit first inning. In the top of the second, it’s Mud Dogs who strike first with singles and a triple from Daulton Pickersgill to score four runs. Philly’s Phinest respond with six in the bottom of the inning as Ray Rocks cranked a three run bomb. In the top of the fourth, Matt Greever doubled and scored the lone run for Mud Dogs. Batting around, Philly’s Phinest get four singles and Ed Rocks smacked an RBI double to help score four more runs. In the bottom of the fifth, another Ed Rocks double help plate a pair for Philly’s Phinest. They keep rolling the next inning with another pair of runs thanks to the three straight base hits they started the inning with. In the top of the seventh, Mud Dogs put up a fight, Brian Figueroa and Daulton Pickersgill tripled while Matt Greever doubled, but their four runs would not be enough for a comeback. Philly’s Phinest defeat the Mud Dogs 14-9.
