Game 1: Amber Inn vs. Dirty Dozen

Dirty Dozen come out firing in the bottom of the first, plating six on four singles and RBI doubles from Angelo Vitantonio and James McHale. In the bottom of the second, they tack on run on as Kyle Landis singled and later scored. They bat around in the bottom of the third, getting a leadoff dinger from Anthony Mumenthaler, then James McHale and Ben Vitelli rip doubles, and Mike Ivers crushes a triple on their way to eight more runs and a huge lead. In the top of the fourth, Amber Inn manage to get on the scoresheet with John Graves leading off with a base knock and Bill Seinburg driving him in. In the bottom of the frame, Dirty Dozen poke five singles, plating three more runs. After Amber Inn fail to score in the fifth, the mercy rule is called. Dirty Dozen crush Amber Inn 18-1.

Man of the Mach: Mike Ivers (3-3, 3 R, 2B, 3B, RBI)

Game 2: Dirty Dozen vs. Harrigan’s

Apologies in advance for this one: the scoresheet doesn’t say which team is home and this one ended in a tie, so it’s not clear.

Dirty Dozen get on the board in the first by forcing an error, hitting three singles, James McHale smacking a triple, and Anthony Mumenthaler crushing a three run bomb to score six. Harringan’s get seven runs of their own by batting around in the first one three singles, doubles from Cody Runner, Bryan McMenamin, and Greg Thompson, and a triple off the bat of Mark Gualtieri. Dirty Dozen put up another six runs in the second thanks to doubles from Ben Vitelli, Anthony Mumenthaler, and James McHale, plus an Alex Metz triple. Harrigan’s manages to plate a pair of runs in the second highlighted by Bryan McMenamin roping a double. In the third, a walk, a single, and a Kyle Landis double produces a pair of runs for Dirty Dozen. Greg Thompson rips a triple and John Norman lines a double as Harrigan’s plates three and the inning finishes with Harrigan’s down two. After a silent fourth, each team manages three runs in the fifth with Cody Runner and Ben Vitelli each driving in a pair of runs for their teams on a double and single, respectively. In the sixth, Matt Wass cranks a two run dinger as Dirty Dozen plate three more runs. A walk and three singles combine with Bryan McManamin and Cody Runner’s doubles to tally five runs for Harrigan’s, tying the game. This one would end in a 20-20 tie as nothing can separate Dirty Dozen and Harrigan’s.

Man of the Match: Cody Runner (3-4, 4 R, 3-2B, 4 RBI)

Game 3: Philly’s Phinest vs. Bulldogs

Bulldogs strike first in the bottom of the first with two runs on a walk, two singles, and a fielder’s choice. CC Witt ripped a triple in the second and later scored as Bulldogs’ only run of the frame. Philly’s Phinest wake up and plate two in the top of the third on three two-out singles and an error. Paul Burtis roped a double in the bottom of the frame to help Bulldogs tack on another two runs. In the top of the fourth, Philly’s Phinest manage a run on three singles. Bulldogs match them in the bottom of the frame on a pair of base knocks. Mike Rocks Jr. and Valentino Mendes each drive a run in for Philly’s Phinest in the fifth. Bulldogs would end up with five men crossing the plate as they drew a walk ,forced an error, smacked three singles, and John Hogan doubled. The rest of the game wouldn’t feature any runs as Bulldogs defeat Philly’s Phinest 11-5.

Man of the Match: Paul Burtis (4-4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI)

Game 4: SCLSU Mud Dogs vs. Dirt Stars

In the bottom of the first, Dirt Stars come out hot, batting around on four walks, five singles, and two bases loaded triples from Brett Rumer and Dan Owens. Mud Dogs get on the board in the top of the second as Kavit Solanski mashes a two run big fly. The next inning, a Jason Figueroa double helps Mud Dogs score another run. In the top of the fourth, three more runs cross the dish on Matt Figueroa’s three run homer. Dirt Stars get back on the board in the bottom of the fourth with four runs on six singles and a sac fly. In the bottom of the fifth, they score another four runs as Dan Ownes smacked an RBI triple and John Boyle ripped a triple. In the top of the sixth, singles lead to two runs for Mud Dogs. Down big in the top of the seventh, Matt Figueroa smashes a two run homer and back-to-back doubles from Same Matos and Brian Figueroa lead to three runs for Mud Dogs, but that would only add up to Dirt Stars’ first inning output. Dirt Stars beat Mud Dogs 19-11.

Man of the Match: Dan Owens (4-4, 3 R, SF, 2B, 3B, 6 RBI)
