Game 1 – MaGerks at Expendables

In fact, 8 other players singled in the inning, plus John Beard smacked an RBI double to extend the lead to 11-0.
MaGerks would get on the board in the fourth for their first and only run, thanks to John Green’s RBI single before the Expendables added an insurance run in the fifth.
Final Score: Expendables 12 MaGerks 1

Game 2 – Expendables at Sons of Pitches
For the second game in a row, the Expendables exploded for a huge inning. This time it was 11 runs in the top of the first. Dan Altemus got things going with his RBI triple. From there, a bigtime double from Pete Donnelly and back-to-back RBI triples from Ray Bittingham and Bill Larkin did the damage. The bleeding finally stopped for Pitches when they gunned Larkin down at the plate.
For Pitches, John Aiken doubled in the first and tripled in the second, helping his team to score 3 and slowly climb back into the game. Then in the third, he hit yet another triple as Pitches would plate 6, closing the gap to 15-9.
In the fourth, Kevin Carver doubled…and then in the fifth, Zach Lyall and Scott Rothman followed suit…making it a one run game. But then came the insurance runs for the Expendables. 3 scored in the sixth thanks to Joe Weeks’ triple and then Dan Altemus crushed a solo homer in the seventh to ice the game.
Final Score: Expendables 19 Sons of Pitches 14
Player of the Game: Each team had a guy worthy of attention in this one. For the Expendables, Dan Altemus went 3 for 5 with a triple, homerun, 3 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored. For Sons of Pitches, John Aiken went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 triples, 3 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored.

Game 3 – Sons of Pitches at Jackhammers
Pitches jumped out to an early lead in this one thanks to a pair of sac flies. The Jackhammers jumped ahead in the second, 3-2, thanks to a pair of doubles from Kevin Finn and Glen Hipple. Ethan Anderson doubled in the third for Pitches, as they plated 4 and retook the lead for what would be the final time in the game.
In the bottom half of the third, Mike Wadsworth crushed a triple that would help put 5 on the board. Then in the fourth, it was Jason Cooper’s double doing big damage, as the Jackhammers put up another 5, suddenly finding themselves with a commanding 14-7 lead. Both offenses would slow down, only putting up one run each the rest of the way.
Final Score: Jackhammers 15 Sons of Pitches 8
Player of the Game: Kevin Finn quietly had a great game, going 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and 3 Runs Scored.

The Isotopes would turn 2 singles into another run in the top half of the fifth before Brendan Burns stole it right back with his RBI triple. In the sixth, Kevin Ladden doubled to lead off the inning for Baron and later scored, finally tying the game.
