Softball in the Wild, Wild West is back. Let’s get right to it:

Game 1: Isotopes @ MaGerks

A pair of triples from Kevin Ladden and Dan Keith helped to keep the game close before Baron’s offensive onslaught in the fourth. A double from Gary brown and a triple from Chris Salanik led the way in this 8-run outburst, putting Baron up 10-5.
Baron added a pair on insurance runs in the sixth before the Sliders took their last licks. A pair of walks and a double from Kyle Simms netted 3 runs, but that wasn’t enough to force more softball.

Player of the Game: Kevin Ladden went 3 for 4 for Baron with a triple, 3 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.

Game 4 – Backdoor Sliders @ Mud Dogs
Ladies and gentlemen, this one wasn’t very pretty. Despite a double from Blasé Contino in the first, the Sliders failed to score early and never saw a lead in this one.
B2B2B2B doubles in the bottom of the first from Kris Carr, Ben Daniels, Max Malloy and Brian Figueroa helped throw up a 6-spot in the first. After the Sliders got 2 back in the second (Jake Aiken RBI double), the Mud Dogs used a 3-run bomb from Matt Figueroa to extend their lead to 12-2.
After a 1-2-3 third for the Sliders, the Mud Dogs piled on, plating 7 more on the backs of 4 doubles (M Figueroa, Malloy, B Figueroa, Sam Matos) and a Grand Slam from Bob Daniels.
The Sliders found some life in the fourth and fifth, putting up back to 5-run innings thanks to triples from Kyle Simms and Blasé Contino plus doubles from Jeremy Adams and Garth Pitarrin.
Unfortunately for the Sliders, the Mud Dogs just kept on rolling, scoring 7 more in the fourth thanks to 4 doubles (Jason Figueroa, Carr, Daniels, Matos) and a solo homer from Matt Figueroa.
The Sliders were finally put out of their misery as the first batter in the bottom of the fifth, Kris Carr, blasted a homer and enacted the mercy rule.
Final Score: Mud Dogs 27 Backdoor Sliders 12

Game 6 – Randazzos Pizza @ Jackhammers

A scoreless third for Randazzos allowed the Jackhammers to extend their lead. Vince Morgan led the way with a triple as the Jackhammers racked up 4 more runs.
Both teams had an explosive fourth inning. First, Randazzos scored a whopping 11 runs. Pete Corrigan led the way with a Grand Slam, but Steve Goodman chipped in a 2-run double followed by Anthony Miller’s 2-run bomb. In the bottom half, the Jackhammers miraculously matched the 11-run outburst. A triple by Dan Jensen and a double from Rob Wardrop got things going before Wardrop capped things off with a 3-run double in his second at-bat of the inning.
Things settled down after the crazy fourth. A pair of doubles from Chris Day and Bill Moore tacked on another run to the Jackhammers total in the fifth while Harry Steglich tripled in the sixth for Randazzos as they attempted to come back, down 7 runs. They could not.
