5/9 B North

Crossover week part deux… Mother’s Day addition! Some games will not be on this week’s article because they were crossover games so if you don’t see your game, be sure to check the A league writeup!

Game 1: Dirty Dozen v Bulldogs

For Dirty Dozen, John Erb made mama proud as he cranked a triple to start a 4 run rally in the first. Sean Taylor would match Erbs triple with a triple of his own in the 2nd to plate another run or the double D’s. Continuing the trend Erb would once again triple in the 3rd inning as his long fly ball combined with a Ben Vitelli double helped plate 4. Erb, proving he no longer has homerun power and is slowing in his old age, cranked his third triple of the game in the 5th inning, leading the way to 3 more runs. Clearly tired, Erb could only muster a double in the 6th plating two more. In the 7th, two more triples from Jarrett Kerns and Justin Kelly combined with Vitelli’s 2nd double of the game pushed across a whopping 3 more runs.
The Bulldogs scored early and often as well as a Paul Burtis double and a Mike Suda 3 run bomb helped plate 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Doubles from Burtis, Dave Robbins, CC Witt and Peter Burns led the way in the 3rd inning as 5 more runs crossed for the dogs. After a slow middle of the game, another 5 run outburst came from the Bulldogs in the 5th as this time it was doubles from John Hagan, Anthony Bates, and Mr. Burns smacking around the yellow pill.

Final Score: Dirty Dozen 15 - Bulldogs 14

Game 2: Misfits v Yankee Clippers

The Yankee Clippers knew better than to upset the wives as they forfeit this one.

FInal Score: Misfits 7 - YC 0

At the Quarry, the One Hit Wonders fell to Vertex, Dark Horse battled but fell short against Silverbacks and WIre2Wire upset the Doom Kitties.
