Game #1 –Dave and Confused vs. The Hounds

Dave gets rolling right out of the gate with a two run single from Marc Mckinney and sac fly from Kyle Pederzani to give them the early 4-0 lead. Hounds get one run back with an RBI single from Dan Roman. Dave gets right back to work in the next inning. Mckinney starts the scoring with a big grand slam and a couple of batters later, Dave Graves knocks in two with a two run triple. Carl Ervin also adds a run on an RBI walk in the inning as well. Hounds score two runs in the third on a couple singles and an error. Derek Kroane smashes a deep fly ball that ends up being caught, but ultimately drives in two on the sac fly. Both teams offense would come to a halt there and that is how we would end. Both teams throw up a couple of innings with no runs. Dave wins 13-6.

Game #2 – Morning Wood vs. Birdgang

Morning Wood starts the scoring with six runs out of the gate. Matt Figueroa gets the first action with an RBI double followed by a Charlie hooker RBI single a couple of batters later. Colton hooker than smashes a three run bomb bringing their lead up to five. Daulton Pickersgill nets one more on an RBI double. Birdgang respond in the second putting up five runs of their own. Joey Pittman, Dave Rothenberger and Alex Matteo start the scoring with back to back to back RBI singles. Trevor Lane smacks a three run bomb for Morning Wood in the third as they increase their lead to 11-5. Pittman answers back with a homer of his own, bringing this to an 11-9 game. Birdgang takes the lead in the fourth with back to back homers from Shawn Collins and Jason McLaughlin. That is short lived as Wood takes the lead right back a couple of innings later thanks to back to back homers from Ben Daniels and Colton Wood as well as a two run double from Steve Cox. Birdgang respond back with back to back homers again from Collins and McLaughlin, but it wouldn’t be enough in this one. Morning Wood wins 18-15.

Game #3 – Dirt Stars vs. Palz

Palz take advantage of Dirt Stars slow start getting three runs in the bottom of the first. Dave Nakonieczny knocked in two runs with a two run single. Dirt Stars respond in the top of the second getting three runs on a Shawn Mackley RBI single and Joe Tulino two run double. Alex Freeman smashes a three run bomb for Palz in the third as they take the lead back again. Joe Carpino knocks in one more run on a sac fly in the fourth as they bring this game to within one run. Both teams offense go cold until the seventh when we see them break the bats out again. Dirt Starts have a big seventh batting around and pushing across six runs. Jerry White started it with a two run double and Gary Brooks smashed a three run bomb as they take a big league. Palz step to the plate with the game on the line and can only manage one run. They will end up coming short in this one. Dirt Stars win 11-7.

Game #4 – MaGerks vs. Sunday Scaries

We get the last game of the night started off with MaGerks pushing across five runs highlighted by RBI doubles from Will Clark and Jeff Tongue. MaGerks get right back to work in the second inning as they push across a whooping seven runs this time. Brian Hilbert started it with a two run double, followed by RBI singles from Jim Molloy and Steve Johnson as well as a Denny Nicholson three run bomb. Scaries try to stay in this game and musters up five runs across the first three innings. Scaries finally have a big inning in the fourth doubling up and scoring five runs in the inning making this an 18-10 game. Casey Hesdon had a bases clearing triple in the inning. Scaries look to continue their offense as Dave Mcaughly gets a two run double in the fifth for them. Nick Kalinski gets them started with a two run single in the seventh, but it ends up not being enough as MaGerks early display of runs is going to prove to be too much for them. MaGerks win 23-18.
