Game #1 –Morning Wood vs. Dave and Confused

Morning Wood gets this week rolling with a big first inning highlighted by a two run double from Daulton Pickersgill. Ben Daniels and Matt Kohn also add RBI doubles in the inning. Kohn also adds a three run homer to end the inning in his second at bat of the inning. Confused get four runs back, thanks in big part by a David Graves bases clearing double. Pickersgill nets Morning Wood another run on a RBI triple in the second inning as they continue to hit well. Confused gets four more runs in the third with a Marc Mckinney two run single and Graves RBI double. Mckinney smacks a two run homer a couple of innings later while Dave tries to fight back in this one. They get five more runs in the seventh, getting a two run double from John Hickman and RBI single from Sean Pena, but they would come up just short and fall in this one. Morning Wood wins 17-15.

Game #2 – Hounds vs. Palz Tap House

Palz strike first in the bottom of the first, getting three runs on a three run homer from Pete Herbert as they jump out to a 3-0 lead early. Herbert strikes again in the third with another homer, this time a solo shot. Dave Nakonieczny also adds a run on an RBI single. The Hounds continue to struggle as they can’t push any runs across. Palz get rolling again in the fifth as they bat around and score a massive nine runs in the inning. Louie Knoeble clears the bases with a three run triple and they also get RBI hits from Leo Pagan, Casey Long, Herbert and Kyle Greener. Eventually, time runs out on this one and Palz will take this one easy. Palz wins 16-2.

Game #3 – Hambinos vs. Palz Tap House

Hambinos strike first getting one run off a Joe Pizzola RBI single. Palz keep their hot streak going right out of the gate in this one as they push across 13 runs right out of the gate. Alex Freeman started the scoring with a two run double followed by a Herbert RBI single. Bob Jacob and Leo Pagan then hit two run singles as they continue to swing hot. Freeman ends the scoring in the first with a three run bomb as they lead big. Neither team scores across the next two innings. Hambinos grab two runs in the fourth thanks to RBI singles from Marc Peasley and Matt Schalck and then they grab four more runs in the fifth after RBI hits from Spencer Slutsky, Nick Heller and Bob Gower. Casey Long helps to seal the game in the last inning with a solo bomb as they will win this game easy, just like the first one.

Game #4 – Dirt Stars vs. MaGerk’s Pub

Dan Curran draws an RBI walk to get Dirt Stars their first run and Sean Mackley adds to it a batter later with a two run double. MaGerks responds with five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Jim Malloy starts the scoring with a two run single and both Bill Schubert and Dave Cohee net RBI walks for MaGerks. MaGerks keep it going in the second, this time pushing across seven more runs. Blasé Contino and Jeff Tongue hit RBI doubles and Denny Nicholson and Malloy both hit RBI singles. Malloy stays hot in the third, this time smashing a triple and driving in two more runs. Dan Curran tries to keep Dirt Stars in this one and hits a sac fly in the third, but the score stands at 16-5 after three innings. MaGerk’s keeps their scoring going in the fourth and fifth and they continue to roll in this on as they win big. MaGerks win 21-6.

Game #5 – Sunday Scaries vs. Bird Gang

Both teams start off showing their defensive talents keep the score deadlocked at 0-0. Birdgang grabs the lead in the third after they get RBI singles from Anthony Ciliberto and James McLaughlin. Both teams continue to lock it down defensively and no runs are scored again until the sixth, this time a two run bomb from Joey Pittman. Scaries finally get on the board in the seventh, getting RBI singels from Dave McKenna and Pat Deacon, but that is all they could muster up as they will fall in this defensive showdown. Bird Gang wins 4-2.
