Game #1 –Hambinos vs. Dirt Stars

Hambinos get rolling with four runs right out of the gate thanks to a two run single from Pat Tobin and RBI single from Matt Schalck. Dirt Stars respond in a big way with seven runs in the bottom of the inning as they bat around. Gary Brooks had two runs on a two run single as well as Nick Carousa. Joe Turlino added one on a RBI double. Dirt Stars get back to work in the second, this time with five runs. John Boyle and Joe Carpino draw RBI walks. Turlino adds two runs this inning with a single. Dirt Stars burry this game early with five more runs in the fourth. Gary Brooks helped seal it with a two run double. Dirt Stars win 19-5.

Game #2 – The Hounds vs. Sunday Scaries

Hounds come out slow in the first couple of innings only getting two runs off a Dan Roman RBI double and Kevin Convery RBI single. Scaries respond with one run on a Nick Calinoski RBI single in the first, but get three runs in the second on a three run bomb from Andrew Coates. Back to back singles in the third for Dave McCaughey and Colin Kelly give Scaries the 6-3 lead after three innings. Scaries finally break this game open with an eight run fifth inning. Josh Persing had a two run double and Matt Horn had a bases clearing double. Tommy Thornton and Patrick Deacon also added RBI singles in the inning as well. The Hounds respond back with a couple in the sixth from a Rey Jimenez two run single, but they will fall short. Scaries win 15-6.

Game #3 – Birdgang vs. Hounds

Birdgang absolutely erupts in the first inning batting around twice and pushing across 19 runs right out of the gate. Jason McLaughlin started the scoring with a three run bomb followed by an Alex Matteo two run single. Jason McLaughlin was at it again later in the inning with the extra base hits, this time an RBI double. James McLaughlin, a batter later, then knocked in two runs on a triple followed up by another triple from Mark Rothenberger driving in another run. Nick Pittman and Andrew Hilenbrand rounded out the inning with two more RBI’s as the blast off in this one. Hounds come out slow and only grab a couple runs over the first couple innings. Birdgang continues to swing well and adds three more runs in the next couple of innings. Because of all the early runs, Birdgang will take this easy. Birdgang wins 22-2.

Game #4 – Palz vs. Birdgang

Palz look to start early after seeing Birdgang erupt in their first game of the day. Bob Jacob hits a sac fly to give Palz the early 2-0 lead. Birdgang keeps their red hot bats going into game two as they push four runs across in the bottom of the inning. Shawn Collins starts it with an RBI triple followed by RBI singles from James McLaughlin and Alex Matteo. After a brief inning with no runs from Birdgang, they come back strong in the third and fourth netting a total of 17 runs across and again blowing this game wide open. Jason McLaughlin was at it again, with a three run double and two run homer across the two innings. James McLaughlin also added a two run bomb in the inning. Nick Pittman, Dave Rothenberger, Joey Pittman and Andrew Hillebrand all add RBI singles and Anthony Ciliberto had a bases clearing triple. Palz grab some runs late, but again Birdgang will again pull away big in this one. Birdgang wins 24-9.

Game #5 – Dave and Confused vs. MaGerks


Dave and Confused break out to a 3-0 lead after one inning on RBI singles from Carl Ervin and Marc McKinney. MaGerks get two runs back on a Rich Houser RBI double and Denny Nicholson fielder’s choice. MaGerks take the lead in the second with another RBI from Houser, this time an RBI single. A couple runs on both sides as we fast forward to the fifth, where MaGerks starts to run away. Bill Schubert knocks in one run on an RBI double and Dave Cohee knocks in one on a fielder’s choice. MaGerks end this one after a Jeff Tongue RBI double and Steve Korpalski RBI single. MaGerks win 12-5.
