A Division

Quarry

Game 1: Silverbacks vs. Doom Cats

The Silverbacks take the early lead with two runs in the top of the first. DC answers with a run in the bottom of the first. A double by Ira Silverstein helps the Silverback plate two more runs in the top of the third. DC bats around in the bottom of the third to put up TEN runs on a lot of singles, and a two run homer by Tom Koelzer. The Silverbacks add a run in the top of the fifth. Jon Poore and Ryan Goodman smash back to back homers in the bottom of the fourth. The Doom Cats win the first game, 20-5.

Game 2: Doom Cats vs. Silverbacks

The Silverbacks start hot in the bottom of the first with seven runs thanks to a Jamal Covington RBI triple, and a three run homer by Ed O’Neill. Iri Silverstein jacks a three run homer for the Silverbacks in the bottom of the second. DC gets on the board in the top of the third with five runs on singles, and a two run double by Jimmy Craig. Chris Hackney smokes an RBI double for DC in the top of the fourth as three runs cross the plate. Iri Silverstein and Rob McKenna blast back to back homers for the Silverbacks in the bottom of the fifth. DC rallies in the top of the seventh by batting around to pick up TEN runs with doubles by Zach Martin, Matt Hatch, Will Otinger, and Chris Hackney. DJ Ellars rips a three run homer for the Silverbacks in the bottom of the seventh, but its not enough. The Doom Cats win a slug fest 20-19 to win the second game and the spring title. Congrats!

B South

Lukens I

Game 1: Steam vs. Swingers

Back to back doubles by Kenny Goodwin and Brian Delucus net Steam a run in the top of the first. Steam adds three runs in the top of the second. The Swingers finally get on the board in the bottom of the fourth to plate five runs with a two run double by Lucas Burke. Five runs cross the plate for Steam in the top of the fifth on walks, and a two run triple by Frankie Bythrow. The Swingers bat around in the bottom of the sixth to score eight runs on walks, singles, a two run double by Kevin Weintraub, and a Dion Greene RBI triple. The Swingers win the first game, 14-9.

Game 2: Swingers vs. Steam

Brian Close and Lucas Burke smoke doubles for the Swingers which lead to three runs in the top of the first. Walks give Steam three runs in the bottom of the second. Matt Sheehan blasts a grand slam for Steam in the bottom of the third. The Swingers add a run in the top of the fifth. A double by Ayden Coyle helps net two runs for the Swingers in the top of the sixth. Steam squeaks out the second game, 8-7.

Game 3: Steam vs. Swingers

Steam scores three runs in the top of the first on singles. Brian Close smokes an RBI double for the Swingers in the bottom of the first. Steam adds three more runs on more singles in the top of the third. Brian Close jacks a two run homer for the Swingers in the bottom of the fourth. The Swingers pick up six runs in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a two run triple by Brian Hoover. Steam rallies for two runs in the top of the seventh. The Swingers win the third game 11-8, and the spring title. Congrats!
