Playoff time! This is one of the best weeks of the year! Every game matters, upsets usually happen and any team can get knocked off! This was a WILD WEEK for B WEST Softball!


Cifelli's Sunoco (5) @ Hattricks (4)

Cifelli's Sunoco squeezes out 2 runs courtesy of the putter. Hattricks matches that performance to tie the game after the 1st inning. Cifelli's gets another run in the top of the 3rd to take the lead 3-2 after 3. Hattricks took advantage of walks and an error as Tyler R drove in two with a big single to give Hattricks a 4-3 lead after 4. The 5th inning was whne things got really interesting. The top of the order exploded for Cifelli's as Sam Ryan tripled in a run and Mike Shoemagel hit a bomb but "Missed 3rd base"? Toby singled and Phillip Weinseimer hit a 2 run bomb to give Cifelli's a 7-4 lead. Hattricks immediately answered getting those 3 back by taking advantage of walks and errors! Cifelli's got back out in front scoring 2 on a Jayden Newton double and an error assisted the next run. 3 walks led to a run for Hattricks to cut the deficet to 1 run. Cifelli's took a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 7th where Hattricks would have to try to figure out a way to score or their season would end. The bottom of the 7th was WILD.. Single, OUT, WALK, WALK, F-7 would not move the runners, Jordan Glasure single and 2 runs came home to tie the game before Kris Cassel got thrown out attempting to get to 3rd base. In the extra frame Blake singled, Sam Ryan BOMBED a home run as Cifelli's would talk a 3 run lead into the bottom of the 8th. I have never saw anything like this but... Hattricks walked 6 straight times to walk off walk.. Hattricks walk into the Semi Finals!

Jackhammers (6) @ Pitch, Please (3)

Tom Finn opened the scoring up in the 1st smashing a double to set up Big Z with the 2 RBI single. Pitch, Please would respond quickly with a Dan Altemus double and a Jon (I have a) Beard double. The bottom of the Jackhammers lineup had themselves a day scoring 3 runs in the 2nd on 4 singles and a walk! Jackhammers added on to their lead in the 4th with the bottom of the lineup again scoring 3 more runs as Bill Moore hit a bases clearing triple! 8-2 Jackhammers. Pitch, Please needed a spark and they cut the deficit to 4 with a Joe Weeks double and a Kevin Carver long ball! They cut that lead to 2 when Joe Kindt doubled and Good Ole Ray singled him in and scored. 8-6 after 5 innings. This division had a WILD day and this game would not be the exception. Jackhammers extended their lead to 3 as they scraped together a run in the 6th with singles. Mike Sheridan got one back for Pitch, Please as he doubled and scored from 2nd on a sac fly to make it 9-7. 3 singles and an error gave Jackhammers a 4 run lead. Bottom of the 7th can Pitch, Please complete the comeback? Double by Beard, double by Ray, The RF snags a ball for the 1st out, Weeks singles to bring the tying run to the plate but both hitters swing for it all and come up shy.

Hattricks (5) @ HG Coal Fired Pizza (1)

You wanted an exception? Here is it... HG Dominated! Hattricks took a 1-0 lead and never sniffed the lead again. Stein doubled, Brendon Parker Doubled, Andrew Parker TRIPLED as HG proceeded to bat around, for their 2nd AB in the 1st inning Stein followed his double up with a HOMER, Brendon Parker followed his double with a HR to cap a 11 run first inning. Josh Graef homer'd for Hattricks to get 2 back in the 3rd but HG was just too much today as Andrew Smush Parker doubled to scored another in the 4th and they added icing on the cake in the 6th as the Parker boys tripled and doubled followed by Andrew's brother who apparently hits better Justin Knapp doubles. ALL HG in this one!

Jackhammers (6) @ Sons of Pitches (2)

As a top seed, getting a shut down inning in the top of the 1st is super important, after getting the 1st 2 outs Jackhammers got 5 singles and 4 walks to score 7 first inning runs! Sons of Pitches needed to respond and they did, cutting the lead to just 2 after scoring 5 of their own. A leadoff double by Austin Kooker led the way to a 5 run response. Dylan Brooks cut the lead to just 1 in the bottom of the 2nd with a double. The Jackhammers added 5 more on in the 3rd with 6 singles and a big error to extend their lead to 12-7. Joe S from Sons of pitches drove in a couple in the 5th so cut the lead to 2. 13-11 going into the 6th. Tom Finn and Big Z both score to make it a 15-11 game! Sons of Pitches gets one back in the bottom to lead up to a wild finish! 15-12, after finally shutting down the Jackhammers, can Sons of Pitches tie it up? walk it off? They started with a triple, immediately knocked him in with a single. 15-13, tying run at the plate. After 2 quick outs Paul Elliot wanted to see if the right fielder was picking daisy's and gave it a ride, but the Jackhammers make the catch and moved on to the finals!
