Game #1 – (5) Dave and Confused vs. (4) Sunday Scaries

John Graves drives in the first run of the inning with a bases loaded walk giving them an early 1-0 lead. John Fine increases that lead in the following inning with a bases clearing double increase their lead to 4-1. Scaries get on the board in the second with a Dave McCaughey RBI single. Dave and Confused quickly respond again coming out in the top of the third with a four run inning. Kevin Noone lead the charge with a two run single and John Graves also had an RBI single in the inning. Scaries struggle at the plate and get only net three more runs throughout the rest of the game and they will fall in this one. Dave and Confused win 9-4.

Game #2 – (6) Dirt Stars vs. (3) MaGerk’s

This game starts off slow with MaGerk’s grabbing a couple of runs early and Dirt Stars not able to. Jeff Tongue had a sac fly and Steve Johnson had a solo bomb. Dirt Stars tie this game in the third getting two runs back on back to back RBI singles from Gary Brooks and Myles Davis. MaGerk’s get another run in the third, but break this open a little bit in the fourth inning with six runs. Brian Hilbert starts the scoring with an RBI double, followed by a Jimmy Molloy two run triple. Chris Rommel and Jeff Tongue add RBI singles and Denny Nicholson also adds an RBI triple. Dirt Stars get runs in the fifth and sixth, but can’t come close in this one and will fall. MaGerk’s win 12-4.

Game #3 – (5) Dave and Confused vs. (1) Morning Wood

This game starts off slow as both teams are sizing up their opponents to see who is going to be the first one to strike. Morning Wood takes a 2-0 lead into the fourth inning when they explode for five runs. Matt Figueroa and Colton hooker smash back to back RBI doubles and then Steve Cox and Trevor Lane have an RBI double and RBI single later in the inning. Morning Wood was back at it again with four more runs in the fifth as they really take control of this game. Confused get three runs late in the game, but the top seed proves to be too much for them in this one as Morning Wood will win. Morning Wood wins 16-3.

Game #4 – (3) MaGerk’s vs. (2) Birdgang

MaGerk’s come out looking to knock off the 2 seed Birdgang and push across five runs in the second inning to take the lead first. Bill Shubert and Jonny Green had RBI singles while Brian Hilbert smashed a sac fly. Birdgang respond well with six runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Joey Pittman and Nick Pittman start it with back to back RBI singles and Justin Csaszar knocks in a run on an RBI double. Andrew Hildebrand knocks in two with a single of his own. MaGerk’s take the lead back with four runs, thanks to a big clutch two run single from Shubert, who continues to hit the ball well. Birdgang gets two back, but still trail by 1. Steve Korpalski and Chris Rommell increase the lead by two two more RBI’s. Birdgang grab the lead back with five runs in the fifth. Mark Rothenberger and Nick Pittman started it with RBI singles and Hildebrand finished it with another RBI single. Birdgang holds the 13-11 lead through five innings. MaGerk’s come up big in the seventh and tie the game at 14 scoring three runs in the inning. Chris Rommel had an RBI single and Jeff Tongue had an RBI walk in the inning. Birdgang comes up to bat needing one run to go to the ship and they deliver. With one out and a runner on, Anthony Ciliberto plays hero with a walk off RBI single. Birdgang wins 15-14.
