After seemingly a month off due to Mother Nature hating weekends, we return to the ever competitive B North division for some softball action.

Game 1: Yankee Clippers v Ballz Deep

The Yankee Clippers turned into the Bronx bombers in the first inning as they smack home four runs on a homerun my Andre O’Donnell, a triple from Nick Wasekanes and a double from Brian McGuire. “El Capitan” Gene Walczak would get Ballz Deep back into the game in the bottom half of the inning as he would crush a bases clearing triple to close the gap to one. In the 2nd, the hitting machine named Brian McGuire struck again, this time with a triple, helping the Clips to 3 more runs. Walks and singles would set the stage for another one man army comeback from Geno as this time he smoked an RBI double to cut the deficit back to one. Over the next two inning it would be the Yankee Clippers who would continue to do damage as they would compile 3 runs via walks and singles. In the bottom of the 5th, down 5, the BD squad would battle back to take the lead as Campbell, Walczak and Butrica would all double, combined with triple from Travis Bryan and Justin Wilson to plate a huge 8 runs. The Clips would retake the lead in the top of the 6th, as four straight singles and an Andrew Hesdon triple would help push across 5 runs to jump back on top. In what would prove to be their final at bats, the Ballz Deepers managed to scratch across one run but that would be all the could muster in this one.

The One Hit Wonders had control over most of game two as they would spread out 8 runs over 7 innings and combine that with stellar defense and pitching. In the 1st, they got on the board via a Mike Trivino RBI double. Back to back doubles from Jack Stepnowski and Andy Springer would help plate an additional run in the top of the 3rd. Damage would be done in the fourth inning as well as they are able t plate two runs on four singles from the bottom of the lineup. Walks, singles, and an untimely error assisted the squad in plating 3 runs in the top of the 6th to keep the One Hit Wonders comfortably in front. In the top of the 7th, Andy Springer would ice the cake as he doubled and scored to extend the lead. The Bulldogs would have a tough time getting the scoring machine revved up in this one as they are able to plate a run in the bottom of the first via back to back singles and an error, a run in the third as Dave Nagle smoked a double, and a run in the 7th via an error, a walk and an RBI single.
