Game 2 – Baron Von Fritz (4-2) at Randazzo’s Pizza (0-5)
Randazzos was looking for their first win while Baron was trying to overcome the demons of their first game defeat.

In the top of the fourth, Baron tied it up with a pair of singles before Ranbdazzos went berserk in the bottom half. With two outs and only one runner on, Pete Corrgian singles before Greg Taylor delivered a huge 2-RBI triple. After a single and a walk, Paul Schenk blasted a 3-run bomb, giving Randazzos a 6-run, 8-2 lead.
The teams traded runs in the fifth and ere quiet in the sixth before baron attempted to rally in the seventh. Brandon Rock and Craig Stewart led off the inning with singles, but two quick outs followed, putting their backs against the wall. Ryan Garner singled, scoring Rock, but then Frankie Fusca popped out to right to end it.
Bad day for Baron, while Randazzos entered the win column.

The teams traded runs in the first, as Brian Hilbert delivered an RBI double for MaGerks and Travis McCordy doubled and later scored for the Sliders. After a quiet second, MaGerks put 4 on the board, in large part thanks to Rich Hauser’s 3-RBI triple.

A single and 2 walks set the stage for back-to-back RBI doubles from Anthony Maddoni and Rich Hauser. Game 5 – Hattrick’s (1-5) at Backdoor Sliders (1-4-1)

Hattricks made it clear that they came to play early, putting up 5 in the first, including a 2-RBI single from Tyler Roetman. Two innings later, Roetman would add a solo homer, extending the lead to 6-0.
In the bottom of the third, the Sliders got on the board, as Travis McCordy singled and later scored. But that would be the last we’d hear of the Sliders offense for the day.
Hattricks was not done, though. They used 5 singles and a walk to score 6 more in the fourth and added an insurance run in the seventh, winning this one with ease.
Final Score: Hattrick’s 13 (2-5) Backdoor Sliders 1 (1-5-1)

Game 6 – SCLSU Mud Dogs (5-0) at Jackhammers (4-2)

The Mud Dogs got things going in the second, using 4 walks and some timely hits, including a 2-RBI double from Max Malloy, to score 5. The jackhammers answered right back, though, using a bunch of singles plus a 2-RBI triple from Brian Pestridge and an RBI double from Rob Wardrop to score 4 of their own.

With the scored even-up in the fifth, Sam Matos broke the tie with an RBI double for the Mud Dogs. In the sixth, they added to their slim lead, as Chris Refsnider led off the inning with a solo homer and then they small-balled their way to another run later in the inning, making it 12-9. But the Jackhammers would not go quietly, scoring 2 of their own in the bottom half, as Mike Wadsworth provided a timely RBI double in the middle of the inning.
In the top of the seventh, the Mud Dogs were eager for some insurance runs, and they got one as Refsnider delivered an RBI double later in the inning. Now down 2, it was up to the Jackhammers to rally. Two singles put the tying run on base, but Rob Wardrop, who did so much right in this one, flew out to right to end it.
The battle of the heavyweights did not let down, and the Mud Dogs managed to hold on for the W.

Game 7 – SCLSU Mud Dogs (6-0) at Isotopes (3-2-1)
The Mud Dogs were hoping to keep the momentum going, as they looked to take a strangle-hold on the division.
B2B2B singles helped the Mud Dogs to score 2 in the first, giving them the early lead. A error and RBI single from Chris Refsnider extended the lead to 3-0 in the second. Then a few more errors and a key RBI double from Brian Figueroa pushed the Mud Dog lead to 6-0 in the middle of the third.
The Isotopes offense came to life in the bottom of the third, using a Jayson Banks RBI double and a Paul Mizvitowicz RBI triple to score 3, halving the Mud Dog lead.
In the fourth, the Isotopes got 2 more back thanks to a pair of singles and a 2-RBI double from Colin Snyder. Two innings later, the Mud Dogs would steal those runs right back as Max Malloy doubled and Sam Matos delivered a key RBI-single.
Up 8-5 heading into the seventh, the Mud Dogs were intent on tacking on some insurance runs. A handful of singles set the stage and then Ben Daniels blasted a 3-run bomb, extending the lead to 12-5.
Down by a touchdown, the Isotopes would need some magic if they wanted to come back. Unfortunately, there were no magic beans to be found. They scored one, thanks in large part of a fielding miscue, but that would be all she wrote.
Final Score: SCLSU Mud Dogs 12 (7-0) Isotopes 6 (3-3-1)
Player of the Game: Ben Daniels delivered the knockout blow as part of his 3 for 4 day, which included a homerun, 5 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.
