Game 1: Amber Inn vs. Santucci’s

Scoring began in the top of the second in this one, with Amber Inn on the board after a triple from Dave Graves and four straight walks to score two. In the top of the third, they plated another pair of runs on a sac fly, a pair of singles, and a double off the bat of Marc McKinney. Amber Inn stays consistent on the top of the fourth with two more runs on another sac fly and with Phil Klatch ripping an RBI double. In the bottom of the frame, Santucci’s responds with three straight singles, then take advantage of an error and a fielder’s choice as they get on the board with two. In the top of the fifth, Mike Haberle smokes a double, Kevin Noone drives in a couple, and Corey Carlen launches a two run bomb as Amber Inn scores four. John Boyle smacked a solo big fly to score Santucci’s only run in the bottom of the fifth. The next inning, Amber Inn continue to score, this time three runs, as Dave Graves cleared the bases with a double. In the bottom of the seventh, Santucci’s get a double out of John Boyle and a sac fly from Tyler DiPietro, but they could only manage one run. Amber Inn drop Santucci’s 13-4.

Man of the Match: Dave Graves (3-4, R, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI)

Game 2: Billy Goats vs. Santucci’s

Billy Goats come out of the gate hot, plating five in the top of the first by drawing three walks, hitting four singles, and poking a sac fly. Santucci’s get on the board in the bottom of the frame as John Boyle doubled in their only run. In the top of the second, Matt Mandel rips his own double to drive in a run and a fielder’s choice drives the second run across for Billy Goats. In the bottom of the third, Santucci’s takes advantage of a pair of two out errors and Bobby McHugh drives in a run with a single as they score three and cut their deficit to four. Billy Goats respond with four in the top of the fourth as George Osti roped a triple and Mike Mauriello smoked a two run double. Anthony Magallanes doubled in the only run for Santucci’s in the bottom of the fourth. In the fifth, they plate another as Shawn Mackley got on via a base knock and later scored on an error. In the bottom of the fifth, Santucci’s continue to claw their way back with two more runs which both scored on Tyler DiPietro’s sac fly. In the bottom of the seventh, Santucci’s get a leadoff single followed by a walk, but a runner leaving the bag early and consecutive flyouts ended their bid for a comeback. Billy Goats hold off Santucci’s and win 11-8.

Man of the Match: Matt Mandel (3-4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI)

Game 3: Holding Hands with Hookers vs. Billy Goats

Ramping it up quickly in the top of the first, HHWH get a walk, a pair of singles, a sac fly, doubles from Gary Brooks and Jeff Sywulak and a triple from Dan Curran en route to four runs. Billy Goats respond with three in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles and George Osti ripping a double. Gary Brooks and Jeff Sywulak stroked back to back triples in the top of the second to help HHWH plate three. In the third, they plate four more thanks to doubles from Mike Washeleski and Gary Brooks plus a three run dinger from Dan Curran. Billy Goats respond in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs both driven in by Kevin Vawter on a base knock. HHWH add to their lead with a Mike Washeleski RBI double to score one in the fourth and in the fifth, tack on two thanks to a triple from Dan Curran and a solo bomb from Gary Brooks. In the bottom of the sixth, Billy Goats get a run on a sac fly and end the inning down eight. They keep their opponents off the board in the top of the seventh (although a single from Gary Brooks complete his cycle!), and in the bottom, they get to work. They load the bases on walks, Kevin Vawtes smacks a two run double, then Chris Vost drives in two more on a single, but flyouts would do them in and they’d come up short. Holding Hands with Hookers outlast Billy Goats and win 14-10.

Man of the Match: Dan Curran (4-5, 4 R, 2-3B, HR, 5 RBI)

Game 4: Dirty Dozen vs. Tropics

Dirty Dozen get a lone run in the top of the first thanks to Ben Vitelli smacking a triple and scoring later in the inning. In the top of the second, they plate seven with Jamie Glennon roping a double, Kyle Hutter ripping a two run triple, and James McHale rounding the bases on a three run big fly. Tropics respond by getting on the board with a pair as Brian Sexton hit an RBI double. In the top of the third, Dirty Dozen hit four singles, a sac fly, and Kyle Hutter doubled as four cross the dish. Tropics try to keep pace by pushing in three runs after back to back triples to start the frame from Adam Schwartz and Sean Rizzo. The fourth through sixth innings are silent as defense prevails for a little while. In the top of the seventh, Dirty Dozen add three more runs to their lead highlighted by Ben Vitelli’s two run double. Down 10 runs, Tropics have their work cut out for them. A pair of singles to start the inning followed by a one out walk load the bases for Rick Brauning. Brauning steps up with a triple and scores on a sac fly, but the magic would stop there as Tropics come up short. Dirty Dozen defeat Tropics 15-9.

Man of the Match: Ben Vitelli (2-3, R, 2 SF, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI)

A Rocks, Jr. RBI triple and a Rocks, Sr. sac fly plate another two runs for Philly’s Phinest in the top of the fifth. Misfits get another one run inning in the bottom of the fifth as Nick Perez tripled and was doubled in by Jim Cash. With no runs scored the rest of the game, Philly’s Phinest pounced on Misfits early and ride out the rest of the game to an easy 12-2 victory.
