American Conference

Quarry

Game 1: Pigeon Boyz vs. Vertex

Vertex takes the early lead in the bottom of the first with five runs thanks to a run scoring double by Derek Keightly. PB puts up five runs in the top of the third with a two run triple by Jim Fannon. Derek Keightly smashes a solo homer for Vertex in the bottom of the third. A leadoff triple by Dave Keightly leads to a run for Vertex in the bottom of the fifth. PB manages to get another run in the top of the sixth. Vertex takes the first game, 14-8.

Game 2: Vertex vs. Pigeon Boyz

Matt Schaub rakes a run scoring double for Vertex in the top of the first. Singles give Vertex three runs in the top of the third. PB gets on the board in the bottom of the fourth with two runs. Matt Schaub blasts a solo homer for Vertex in the top of the sixth. PB rallies in the bottom of the seventh with four runs as Tom Rider hits the game winning two run single. Pigeon Boyz wins the second game in walkoff fashion, 6-5.

Game 3: Pigeon Boyz vs. Vertex

PB takes the lead with two runs in the top of the first. Vertex bats around in the bottom of the third to put up six runs thanks to a two run double by Mat Crowell, and a Derek Keightly triple. Drew B jacks a two run homer for PB in the top of the fifth. A triple by Derek Keightly, and a Matt Schaub solo homer nets Vertex two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Ryan H smashes a two run homer for PB in the top of the sixth. Vertex takes the third game, 9-7, and the spring title.

B South

Game 1: Sticky Bandits vs. The Expendables

A double by Matt Keller nets TE a run in the bottom of the first. TE plates two more runs in the bottom of the second with a double by Bryan Renn. SB bats around in the top of the third to score five runs on singles, and a double by Dustin Ciukurescu. Singles give TE two runs in the bottom of the fifth. A triple by Dan Sims leads to a run for SB in the top of the sixth. TE puts up two runs in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a triple by Matt Keller. SB rallies for three runs in the top of the seventh with a solo homer by Tom Long. The Sticky Bandits squeak out the first game, 9-8.

Game 2: The Expendables vs. Sticky Bandits

TE takes the early lead with two runs in the top of the first. SB answers with two runs in the bottom of the first on doubles by Dan Sims and Tommy Koelzer. TE bats around in the top of the second to put up twelve runs on doubles by Matt Keller, Mike Sheridan, and Bill Larkin, and a two run triple by Jon Beard. Singles lead to four runs for TE in the top of the third. Three runs come in for SB in the bottom of the fourth on singles. A two run triple by Tom Long helps SB put up three runs in the bottom of the fifth. TE gets two runs in the top of the sixth on walks, and a two run double by Bill Larkin. The Expendables takes the second game, 21-9.

Game 3: Sticky Bandits vs. The Expendables

SB gets two runs on singles in the top of the first. TE answers with six runs in the bottom of the first on singles, and a two run triple by Bill Larkin. Five runs come in for SB on singles in the top of the third. Will Sands rakes a run scoring double for SB in the top of the fourth. TE gets another two runs in the bottom of the fourth on singles. A double by Jeff Headd helps net TE four runs in the bottom of the fifth. TE picks up four insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Kellen McLaughlin and Tommy Koelzer blast back to back homers for SB in the top of the seventh. The Expendable win the third game, 17-10, and the spring title.
