Game 1: Philly’s Phinest vs. Amber Inn

Jumping out to a quick lead in the top of the first, Philly’s Phinest take advantage of two errors and two walks, and hit two singles as they score three runs. Amber Inn come out in the bottom of the first and take a one run lead on a pair of walks, four singles, a sac fly, and with Kevin Noone smacking an RBI triple. The double their output in the bottom of the second with another four run frame with Mark McKinney launching a two run bomb. In the bottom of the third, Bryan McMackin leads off the inning with a homer and they follow him with a sac fly and fielder’s choice to total three runs, taking an 11-3 lead. Two more cross the plate for Amber Inn in the bottom of the fourth on four singles. In the bottom of the fifth, doubles from Phil Klatch, Mike Haberle, and Kevin Noone drive in five more runs for Amber Inn. With Philly’s Phinest silent since the top of the first, this one would end after five innings as Amber Inn cruise to an 18-3 win in Game 1.


Game 2: Amber In vs. Philly’s Phinest

In Game 2, we’d wait until the bottom of the fourth to see some scoreboard action when Philly’s Phinest plate three runs on an error, three singles, and a sac fly. In the top of the fifth, Amber Inn respond by taking the lead on five runs on a walk, and error, and five base hits. In the bottom of the frame, Mike Rocks Sr. knocks in a pair of runs on a single as Philly’s Phinest ties it up at five apiece. Bruce Snyder leads off Amber Inn’s top of the sixth with a double and is promptly driven in by Bruce Snyder, taking a one run lead. In the bottom of the sixth, Mike Repici comes up huge with a three run big fly to putn Philly’s Phinest up by two. In the top of the seventh, Kevin Noone doubles and Bryan McMackin launches a two run bomb as Amber Inn tie the game up heading into the bottom of the seventh. After a flyout, a single, and an erro by the opposing third baseman, Valentino Mendez provides a base knock to score Mike Rocks Sr. and walk off with a Game 2 victory! Philly’s Phinest scrape past Amber Inn 9-8.


Game 3: Philly’s Phinest vs. Amber Inn

Amber Inn open up the scoring in the rubber match, scoring two runs on a sac fly and a double from Dave Graves. In the bottom of the second, Mike Haberle doubles and scored on a fielder’s choice, but Amber Inn would leave the bases loaded and only score one run. In the top of the fourth, Philly’s Phinest wake up and plate six runs thanks to an RBI double from John Quartullo and a two run triple from Valentino Mendez. A solo shot from Mark McKinney in the bottom of the fifth cuts Amber Inn’s deficit to two. In the top of the sixth, Philly’s Phinest start their inning with five consecutive singles, then follow with two RBI walks, and two sac flies as they score another six runs, establishing a 12-4 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, Amber Inn manage a pair of walks and force an error, tacking on a sac fly and a two run double from Kevin Noone as they score four and get themselves within striking distance going into the final frame. Philly’s Phinest are held silent in the top of the seventh, but Amber Inn only manage one hit and concede quietly. Philly’s Phinest take Game 3 and the Championship with a 12-8 victory!
