B-West Summer Championship
Game 1 – Legends at Maggios
Just like a great heavyweight prize fight, these two suads felt one another out early-on. But in the top of the third, Legends struck first blood, plating a run thanks to a trio of singles. Then in the fourth, they tacked on. Pat Feliciani kicked things off with a solo homer, and then Jimmy Beaumeister doubled. After Chris Cruz reached on an error, Hayden Cruz knocked them in with a double, netting 3 runs in the inning and a 4-0 lead.
Maggios bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth, as they finally scored their first fun. They then tacked on another in the fifth. But they made things really interesting in the sixth, as Erik Schwabb kicked things off with a single, Alex Heller doubled, and Donny Younger homered, and Maggios took their first lead of the game, 5-4. Mike Tosha and Alex Tambinno followed with singles and they’d both score, giving their squad a 7-4 lead heading into the seventh.
Looking to come from behind and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, Hayden Cruz led off the seventh with a single. Kevin Cruz would later add an RBI single, cutting the deficit to 7-5 with two outs…but that’s how this one would end.
Maggios held on to claim a game one victory.
Final Score: Maggios 7 Legends 5
Player of the Game: Donny Younger went 2 for 3 with a double, a homerun, 3 RBIs and a Run Scored.

Game 2 – Maggios at Legends
The winner of game two wins nearly 70% of all best-of-threes, so Maggios wanted to make sur they put Legends away in this one…and their offense showed it in the first. With two on and one out, Brenden McCoy blasted a 3-run bomb, giving Maggios an early lead. In the second, 4 singles and a clutch RBI double from Jared Katz extended the lead to 7-0. In the third, Mike Tosha’s RBI double extended the lead to 10-0, putting Maggios in a position where they just had to hold on.
Maggios tacked on another in the top of the fourth before Legends’ offense finally got on track, scoring 3 behind 4 singles.
But Maggios wasn’t done, as a pair of singles set the stage for Donny Younger and his 3-run dinger. Mike Tosha followed with a single and then Alex Tambinno a double as Maggios extended their lead to 16-3. In the sixth, Jared Katz kicked off the inning with a solo homer, helping his team to score 2 more insurance runs and extending the lead to 18-3.
Legends managed to score on in the sixth to keep the game going as Mark McLaughlin doubled to lead off the inning and later scored.
In the seventh, Maggios went down 1-2-3, giving Legends the slimmest of chances as a miraculous comeback. But it wasn’t meant to be, as all they could muster was one lone single.
Maggios won game two and the summer championship!
Final Score: Maggios 18 Legends 4
Player of the Game: Brenden McCoy went 2 for 4 with a homerun, 3 RBIs and a Run Scored.

Congrats to Maggios for winning the B-West Summer Championship.
Player of the Series: Donny Younger. He went 4 for 7 with a double, 2 homeruns, 6 RBIs and 3 Runs scored.
