Game #1 – SCLSU Mud Dogs vs. Bulldogs

Matt Figueroa strikes first with a RBI double to give Mud Dogs an early 1-0 lead. Bulldogs immediately respond in the bottom of the inning getting two runs on sac fly’s from Dave Robbins and Paul Burtis. Dave Nagle adds another run on another sac fly bringing their lead to 3-2. Tommy Brauer have drove in a run on an RBI single in the top of the inning. Bulldogs put together a nice inning in the third driving in four runs and opening their lead to five. Burtis was back at it again hitting a two run double in the inning and Mike Suda also added two runs on a two run single of his own. Mud Dogs really cool down and are not able to get anything going defensively for the rest of the game as they will fall in game 1 of the series. Nagle added an RBI single late in the game as an insurance run. Bulldogs win 8-3.

Game #2 – Bulldogs vs. SCLSU Mud Dogs


Bulldogs look hungry to win the chip as they come out firing and grab an early 5-0 lead. Hogan started it with an RBI triple following by RBI singles from Robbins and Nagle. John Stover also drove in two runs on a hit in the inning. Mud Dogs get on the board in the second on a Jason Figueroa RBI single to cut the lead to 5-1. Bulldogs quickly answer getting RBI singles from Suda and Shawn Dunn as well as an RBI double from John Stover. Mud Dogs continue to stuggle at the plate at the worst time as time is ticking away for them in the series. Will Overton adds a two run homer late in the game for Bulldogs as they looks to seal the chip. It in fact will be enough as Mud Dogs run out of steam on the season and will fall in this one. Bulldogs win 12-4.
