Sorry about the delay on these, gentlemen! Thanks for your patience while I get caught back up.

Playoffs (8/29/2021)
Hatfield
Game 1: Dave & Confused vs. Palz Tap House
Dave & Confused couldn’t have gotten off to a better start in this one; their patience was on display as they drew five walks and poked three singles to bat around and score six runs in the top of the first. In the top of the second, solo dingers from Kyle Pederanzi and Marc McKinney and RBI doubles from Sean Penz and Jeff Johnson tacked on five more to their total. Kyle Pederanzi and John Hickman each ripped an RBI double in the top of the fourth to add two more to the Dave & Confused total. Palz managed to get on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Alex Freeman ripped a triple and scored on a sac fly. In the top of the fifth, run-producing singles from Jeff Johnson and Dave Graves tacked on three more runs for Dave & Confused. Palz starts crawling their way back in the bottom of the frame as they plated six via six singles and doubles from Kyle Greener and Tom Jacob. In the bottom of the sith, Palz added another run thanks to Casey Long roping a double. Their comeback would stop there, however, as Dave & Confused doubles up on Palz Tap House 16-8.

Man of the Match: Jeff Johnson (3-4, R, 2B, 4 RBI)

Game 2: Sunday Scaries vs. Dirt Stars
Josh Pershing got this game started off right for Sunday Scaries by smashing a two run big fly in the top of the first inning. In the top of the second, they kept rolling, this time scoring five runs highlighted by a Pat Deacon double and a three run bomb by Zack Figiniak. Sunday Scaries again plated five in the top of the third thanks to two walks, three singles, and a forced error. In the top of the fourth, Sunday Scaries brought their total to 15 unanswered runs by adding three more on four singles and Matt Horn’s RBI double. Dirt Stars finally get on the board in the bottom of the fourth as they drew a couple walks and poked a couple singles to score a couple runs. Three more crossed the dish for Sunday Scaries in the top of the fifth with Pat Deacon ripping a triple and Dan Kalinoski driving in two by roping a double. Shawn Mackley launched a three run bomb over the fence, accounting for all of Dirt Stars runs in the bottom of the frame. In the bottom of the sixth, they drew two walks, forced two errors, poked two singles, and Joe Carpino provided a two run dinger as Dirt Stars scored the final four runs of the game. Sunday Scaries easily defeat Dirt Stars 18-9.

Man of the Match: Zack Figiniak (3-3, R, HR, 4 RBI)

Game 3: Dave & Confused vs. Ball Busters
Ball Busters plate the first two runs of the game via a leadoff walk, three singles, and a sac fly in the bottom of the first. Dave & Confused matched that in the top of the second as John Fine drove in a pair on a double. In the bottom of the third, Josh Parker smacked a solo homer and Ball Busters followed that with a walk and five singles to total five runs. Mark McKinney smacked a two run double in the top of the fourth to plate two for Dave & Confused. In the bottom of the frame, Ball Busters scored another five runs with Andrew Parker homering again, this time of the three run variety. The bottom of the fifth was a third consecutive five run frame for Ball Busters as the team drew four walks, poked three singles, and got a two run double off the bat of Jay Stein. Kyle Pederanzi smashed a two run homer into the trees, accounting for all of Dave & Confused’s runs in the top of the sixth. A sac fly for Ball Busters in the bottom of the sixth and a John Fine Solo dinger in the top of the seventh accounted for the final runs of this game. Ball Busters roll past Dave & Confused with an 18-7 victory.

Championship (9/12/2021)
Cedar Hill
Game 1: Sunday Scaries vs. Ball Busters
The culmination of the summer season upon us, Ball Busters wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first inning. They batted around on an error, two doubles, three singles, doubles from Jay Stein and Andrew Parker, plus a two run dinger from Brendan Parker for a seven run total. Sunday Scaries got on the board in the top of the second with a single run on three singles. In the bottom of the frame, Ball Busters got a Brendan Parker double and triples from Andrew Parker and Mike Marcelline to tack two runs on. Sunday Scaries added another run in the top of the fourth thanks to a pair of singles and a fielder’s choice. In the bottom of the frame, Ball Busters continue their assault by smacking four singles and getting doubles from Eric Cohen, Brendan Parker, and Matt Messina to score six runs. In the bottom of the fifth, they drew a walk and poked three singles to plate a pair and end the game via the mercy rule. Ball Busters dominate game 1, winning 17-2.

Game 2: Ball Busters vs. Sunday Scaries
Sunday Scaries drew first blood in game 2, plating a pair on singles and a Tommy Thorton double. Ball Busters halved their deficit in the top of the second on a sac fly. In the bottom of the fourth, Sunday Scaries got that run back from Andrew Coates ripping a triple. Justin Knapp smacked a solo dinger in the top of the fifth as Ball Busters found themselves down just one run again. A sac fly for Sunday Scaries in the bottom of the frame restored a two run lead. Back-to-back RBI doubles from Andrew and Brendan Parker helped to score three runs as Ball Busters took their first lead of the game in the top of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, they broke the game open by batting around on two walks, five singles, a Justin Knapp double, and a three run big fly from Brendan Parker to score nine. In need of a big comeback, Sunday Scaries smacked seven singles in the bottom of the seventh, but their five runs would only amount to an admirable attempt to come back. Ball Busters take game two by a score of 14-9 to sweep Sunday Scaries for the Summer B-East championship!
