Hambinos at Palz
The Hambinos failed to score, leaving two men on in the first. Then the Palz went to work. 6 straight singles to start the game. 2 walks and 2 more singles as the inning wore on. The result: a touchdown and a two for an early 8-0 lead.
Pat Tobin doubled for the Hambinos in the second, helping to put them on the board for the first time…but the Palz just kept on coming. Pete Herbert led off the bottom of the second with a solo homer. Later, Dave Nakonieczny doubled as part of a 4-run inning.
Despite a Nick Heller triple, the Hambinos were again scoreless in the third. But the Palz were not…using a Jordan Cohen triple to help score 4 more.
Fast forward to the fifth…16-2, the Hambinos were trying to tack on some runs to keep the game going. They managed to turn 2 singles into a run, making it a 16-3 game. But the Palz were just too much to handle on this particular day, taking advantage of 4 singles and a walk without registering a single out in the fifth to take the 18-3 lead and end this one early.
Final Score: Palz 18 Hambinos 3
Player of the Game: Pete Herbert and Jordan Cohen combined for a 6/6 plus 2 walk day, including a triple, homerun, 7 RBIs and 6 Runs Scored.

Jackhammers at Palz
After a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first for the Jackhammers, Palz went back to work. Casey Long and Ryan Wakonieczny led off the inning with doubles. Jordan Cohen added one of his own later in the inning, en route to a 6-run first.
Tom Lydon led off the second for the Jackhammers with a solo bomb, putting his team on the board for the first time. Later, Chris Day doubled, and the Jackhammers cut the deficit to 6-2.
In the fourth, the Jackhammers took the lead with a big inning. 6 singles and a costly error yielded 6 runs, giving the ‘Hammers the 8-7 lead. They added on, plating 3 more in the sixth using some errors and aggressive baserunning to take the 11-8 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth, it was Palz’ turn. 5 straight singles kicked off the inning, and a big RBI double from Brian Furness put the Palz back on top, 13-11.
In the top of the seventh, the Jackhammers needed some rallying magic. 2 straight errors to start the inning put 2 men on, one of whom would score, but that’s all they could muster.
Final Score: Palz 13 Jackhammers 12
Player of the Game: Once again, it was the Pete Herbert and Jordan Cohen show. The two combined to go 8/8, including 2 doubles, 4 RBIs and 5 Runs scored.

Isotopes at Mug Dogs
The Isotopes got on the board first as Howard Miller singled in the top of the first frame, driving in 2 runs. Then in the second, an early-inning double from Dan Wilson and late-inning back-to-back triples from Sean Pena and Brandon Bozek amounted to 5 more runs, giving them the early 7-0 lead.
The Dogs got on the board in the fourth, taking advantage of Matt Figueroa’s triple and Ben Daniels’ homer to cut the deficit to 7-3.
The teams traded 3-run innings in the fifth. B2B doubles from Trevor Lane and Howard Miller did the damage for the Isotopes, while walks and singles did the job for the Dogs.
Trailing 10-6 and staring at their last 3 outs, the Mud Dogs kicked off a rally in the seventh. Matt Greever started it with a sngle. Matt Figueroa kept it going with a walk. Then Ben Daniels blasted the ball out of the park. Suddenly, it was a 10-9 game, and there were still no outs in the bottom of the seventh. But all good things must come to an end, and the 3-straight fly outs that followed ushered in the end of this one.
Final Score: Isotopes 10 Mud Dogs 9
Player of the Game: In a losing effort, one couldn’t really ask much else of Ben Daniels. He went 3 for 3 plus ROE with 2 homeruns, 5 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.
