Game 1: Vertex vs. Silverbacks
The Silverbacks take an early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first. Vertex bats around in the top of the second to score eight runs on singles, and homers by Sean Nonemacher and Matt Schaub. Vertex picks up two runs in the top of the third. Ari Silverstein rips a two run double for the Silverbacks in the bottom of the third. A leadoff double by Derek Keightly nets Vertex a run in the top of the fourth. Rich Beck smokes a two run double for the SIlverbacks in the bottom of the fourth. Vertex adds two runs in the top of the fifth. Doubles by Scott Castner and JJ Wunerlich lead to a run for the Silverbacks in the bottom of the sixth. Vertex tops the Silverbacks, 14-11.
Game 2: Cifelli’s Sunoco vs. Silverbacks
The Silverbacks strike first in the bottom of the first with five runs on errors, and a two run homer by Ari Silverstein. Sam Ryan blasts a solo homer for CS in the top of the third. The Silverbacks get six runs in the bottom of the third on singles, and an Ian Cuozzo solo homer. CS rallies for five runs in the top of the seventh thanks to homers by Sam Ryan and Mike Schoenagel. The Silverbacks down Cifelli’s Sunoco, 13-9.
Game 3: Pigeon Boyz vs. Doom Cats
Mike Bitterlich jacks a two run homer for PB in the top of the first. PB bats around in the top of the second to score ten runs on errors, and doubles by Tom Ivers, Brendan Quinn, and Brandon Bozek. DC gets on the board with two runs in the bottom of the second. KC Ingram smashes a two run homer for PB in the top of the third. DC uses singles to pick up four runs on singles in the bottom of the sixth. PB adds six runs in the top of the seventh on walks and singles. DC rallies for four runs in the bottom of the seventh on walks, singles, and an RBI double by Zach Martin. Pigeon Boyz beat down the Doom Cats, 22-10.
B South
Lukens III
Game 1: Sticky Bandits vs. Maggios
SB scores a run in the top of the first. Brendan McCoy smokes a two run double for Maggios in the bottom of the first. Back to back doubles by Carmen Napoli and Brendan McCoy help Maggios push three runs across in the bottom of the third. SB adds four runs in the top of the fourth on singles. Maggios bats around in the bottom of the fourth to pick up five runs on singles. A leadoff triple by Nick Ryan leads to a run for SB in the top of the sixth. Singles and a double by Brendan McCoy net Maggios four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Maggios handles the Sticky Bandits, 17-6
Game 2: Maggios vs. Foul Balls
Carmen Napoli smokes an RBI double for Maggios in the top of the first. A leadoff triple by Casey Condron helps FB score a run in the bottom of the first. A leadoff double by Brendan McCoy helps Maggios pick up three runs in the top of the third. Five runs cross the plate for FB in the bottom of the third on singles, and an RBI double by Arik Fenton. Maggios scores six runs in the top of the sixth on singles and a double by Carmen Napoli. FB rallies for two runs in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI double by Pete Corrigan. Maggios beats Foul Balls, 14-9.
Game 3: Spartans vs. Foul Balls
A Brian Kosik double leads to two runs for the Spartans in the top of the first. FB bats around in the bottom of the first to score twelve runs on singles, doubles by Pete Corrigan and Arik Fenton, and a Harry Steglich two run triple. A leadoff triple by Brian Kosik helps the Spartans get a run in the top of the third. The Spartans add two runs in the top of the fourth. FB bats around in the bottom of the fourth to plate seven runs on errors, and singles. The Spartans rally for two runs in the top of the seventh with a two run double by Chris Oneil. Foul Balls take care of the Spartans, 19-8.
Hatfield
Game 4: Sons of Pitches vs. Hitmen
The Hitmen start with six runs in the bottom of the first thanks to walks, and doubles by Pat Feliciani and Dave Anderson. SOP bats around in the top of the second to score eight runs on singles, and a three run homer by Dylan Brooks. Pat Feliciani and Jimmy Beaumeister blast back to back homers for the Hitmen in the bottom of the second. Back to back doubles by Dylan Langdon and AJ Bushingiski lead to three runs for SOP in the top of the fourth. SOP adds two runs in the top of the seventh. Sons of Pitches gets by the Hitmen, 15-11.
