Game #1 – Bird Gang vs. Dirt Stars

Dirt Stars get going in the first with a grand slam off the bat of Dan Owens. Brett Rumor and Steven Hockel grab RBI’s later in the game to make this a 6-0 game after just one inning of play. Owens was back at it again for the Dirt Stars in the following inning, going deep again, this time a three-run bomb. Bird Gang finally gets on the board in the fourth inning getting one run on fly ball from Mark Rothenburger. Dirt Stars continue to rely on the long ball getting a two run shot off the bat of Kevin McNamara. Dave Rothenburger gets two runs back off a two-run single in the seventh, but it won’t nearly be enough to come back in this one. Dirt Stars win 12-4.

Player of the Game:
Dan Owens (Dirt Stars) – 3/4, 2 HR’s, 8 RBI’s

Game #2 – Philly’s Phinest vs. Bird Gang

Philly gets a couple runners on early in the first inning, but they cannot push any across. Bird Gang do not have that problem as they bat around and score nine runs in the bottom of the inning. Jason McLaughlin starts the scoring with a three-run bomb followed up by a batter later with a Chucky Vile solo bomb. Shawn Collins added a two run double later in the inning. Both teams struggle until the fourth, when Bird Gang put up another four runs. Shawn Collins was at work again this time knocking in two runs on a single. Philly’s Phinest really struggle in this one and can only put up one run in the fifth. They end up falling early in this one due to mercy rule. Bird Gang wins 16-1.

Player of the Game:
Shawn Collins (Bird Gang) – 3/3, 2B, 4 RBI’s

Game #3 – Philly’s Phinest vs. Bulldogs

Philly looks to get on the board early in this one, but like the first game struggle to get anything going on early. Bulldogs come out firing getting three runs right out of the gate with a three-run bomb from Paul Burtis. They get four more runs in the second starting with back-to-back sac flys from Anthony Bates and John Stover. John Hogan added a solo bomb in the inning as well. Philly grabs two runs in the third inning, but that is quickly answer to by a six runs from Bulldogs in the bottom of the fourth. Dave Robbins and Shawn Dunn started it with RBI hits and the inning was highlighted by a three run homer run from Will Overton. Philly is able to scratch and claw their way to three more runs late in the game, but cannot produce enough offense to keep up in this one. Bulldogs win 14-5.

Player of the Game:
Will Overton (Bulldogs) – 2/4, HR, 3 RBI’s

Game #4 – Mud Dogs vs. Hambinos

Mud Dogs grab two runs right out of the gate driven in by Matt Figueroa and Trevor Lane. Hambinos respond with one run in the bottom of the second, but are able to push across four runs in the second to take the lead. Nick Heller started the scoring with an RBI single and Matt Good added two runs on a single of his own. Hambinos open this game up in the fourth batting around and pushing five runs across. Spencer Slutsky had a two run double in inning and Matt Schalck had a two run single to help power Hambinos through the inning. Kavit Solanki and Ben Daniels get a couple of runs back for Mud Dogs, but Hambinos end up being too much in the end. A couple runs in the sixth help seal this one for Hambinos. Hambinos win 11-7.
