A Division

Quarry

Game 1: Silverbacks vs. Pigeon Boyz

PB bats around in the bottom of the first to score nine runs on walks, singles, and an RBI double by Mike Bitterlich. A leadoff double by Tom Ivers nets PB a run in the bottom of the second. The Silverbacks get on the board with a run in the top of the third. PB bats around in the bottom of the third to plate six runs with a two run double by KC Ingram. PB bats around again in the bottom of the fourth to pick up five runs thanks to another double by KC Ingram, and a Shane Hannah solo homer. The Pigeon Boyz beat down the Silverbacks, 21-1.

Game 2: Vertex vs. Doom Cats

A leadoff double by Sean Nonemacher helps Vertes get a run in the top of the first. DC answers with three runs in the bottom of the first as Tom Koelzer and Jose Rodriguez blast homers. Vertex bats around in the top of the second to score seven runs thanks to walks, a two run double by Mat Crowell, and a Matt Schaub two run homer. DC uses singles to pick up three runs in the bottom of the third. DC takes the lead in the bottom of the sixth with five runs on singles. The Doom Cats down Vertex, 12-8.

Game 3: Cifelli’s Sunoco vs. Vertex

CS gets on the board in the top of the second with four runs on errors and walks. Vertex bats around in the bottom of the second to get eight runs on a handful of singles. Five runs cross the plate for CS in the top of the third with a two run triple by Mike Schonagel. Back to back doubles by Mat Crowell and Matt Schaub net Vertex three runs in the bottom of the third. CS picks up another two runs in the top of the fourth. Vertex bats around in the bottom of the sixth to push six runs across thanks to singles, and an RBI double by Steve Stoneback. Vertex out slugs Cifelli’s Sunoco, 17-13.

B South

Lukens I

Game 1: Maggios vs. Sons of Pitches

Maggios starts with two runs in the top of the first. Maggios adds two runs in the top of the second on walks and singles. SOP gets on the board with a run in the bottom of the second. Brendan McCoy jacks a two run homer for Maggios in the top of the fifth. SOP plates three runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks in part to a triple by Dylan Coughlin. A leadoff double by AJ Stankovics helps SOP get two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Sean Cook blasts a three run homer for Maggios in the top of the seventh. Maggios beats Sons of Pitches, 11-7.

Game 2: Foul Balls vs. Sons of Pitches

Pete Corrigan smokes an RBI triple for FB in the top of the first. SOP answers with three runs in the bottom of the first with a two run triple by Dylan Brooks. SOP plates five runs in the bottom of the second on singles, and a three run double by Josh Kescsyk. Arik Fenton blasts a two run homer for FB in the top of the fourth. SOP bats around in the bottom of the fourth to score nine runs on walks, singles, and doubles by Brett Kescsyk and Austin Kooker. FB adds two more runs in the top of the fifth. SOP finishes it in the bottom of the fifth with four runs thanks to a double by Austin Kooker, and a Paul Elliott two run triple. Sons of Pitches destroys Foul Balls, 22-7.

Game 3: Hitmen vs. Spartans

A leadoff double by Hayden Cruz leads to a run for the Hitmen in the top of the first. The Spartans get on the board with a run in the bottom of the third. The Hitmen add two more runs in the top of the fifth thanks to an RBI triple by Bryan Fennell. The Hitmen beat the Spartans in a “barn burner”, 4-1.

Game 4: Sticky Bandits vs. Spartans

SB scores two runs in the top of the first on singles. The Spartans bat around in the bottom of the first push nine runs across on a whole lot of walks, and an RBI double by Brian Kosik. SB picks up four runs in the top of the second thanks to a two run double by John Mish, and a Brian Mish two run homer. SB adds two more runs in the top of the sixth. The Spartans squeak by the Sticky Bandits, 10-8.
