Game #1 – Philly’s Phinest vs. Hambinos

Hambinos really get going early in this one as three of the first four batter’s reach base on walks. Pat Tobin knocks in the first run of the game on an RBI single. The next four batter’s all reach base and drive in a run on RBI walks as Hambinos really get going early. Matt Lyke clears the bases with a three run double before Philly gets out of the inning. Hambinos lead 9-0 after one inning. Hambinos double that production in the second as they drive in another nine runs in the second. The inning was highlighted by a two run single from Nick Heller and two run home run from Bradd Gower. Philly got the bats going in the second as well with six runs of their own, highlighted by a bases clearing double from Ray Rocks. Hambinos are back at it again in the third inning as walks continue to hurt Philly. Matt Schalck had a two run single in the inning and Bradd Gower added one on a RBI double. Hambinos put up six runs in the fourth and end this one early. Hambinos win 30-10.

Game #2 – Hambinos vs. Bird Gang

Hambinos come out swinging early, fresh off the big first game and grab five runs right away. Pat Tobin and Mike Hilt start it with an RBI apiece followed by a two-run single from Joe Pizzola. Birdgang responds and takes the lead in the bottom of the inning getting six runs of their own. Jason McGlaglin starts the scoring with an RBI double and Anthony Ciligerto grabs an RBI double of his own later in the inning. Vinny Juliano also added a two-run triple later in the inning. The lead was short lived again as Hambinos take the lead right back. Back to back two run doubles from Matt Good and Bradd Gower get the job done for them. Hambinos bat around in the third for six more runs, mounted behind a Good three run bomb as they increase their lead to 16-7. Birdgang mounts their comeback in the fifth as they go deep three times in the inning. Mark Rothenberger and Juliano had two run home runs and Joey Pittman had a solo home run in the inning. Hambinos get two insurance runs in the sixth and that ends up being enough to hold off Bird Gang. Hambinos win 18-15.

Game #3 – SCLSU Mud Dogs vs. Bulldogs

Bulldogs jump out to an early 4-0 lead after getting an RBI single from John Hogan, a RBI triple from Shawn Dunn and a couple errors in the field. Anthony Bates goes deep in the second inning to extend Bulldogs lead even more to seven. Mud Dogs get one back after getting a couple of baserunners on from a couple errors. Mud Dogs get a solo homer in the fourth from Ben Daniels and an RBI single from Jason Figuerora, which helps to cut into the lead that Bulldogs currently holds. That is quickly countered by a two run double from Dave Nagle and RBI single from Drew Fitzherbert. Bulldogs continue to add runs every inning and end up taking this one easy. Bulldogs win 15-6.

Game #4 – Dirt Stars vs. Bulldogs

Bulldogs look to come out swinging after having some bid success in their first game and get started with a two-run triple from Dave Robbins. Chuck Frazier then follows that up with an RBI triple of his own. Dunn and CC Witt round out the inning with RBI singles. Dirt Stars respond with four runs of their own getting RBI hits from Myles Davis and Joe Tarino as well as a two run single from Keving McNamara. Bulldogs bats continue to be red hot as they bat around in the second inning and score nine more runs. Robbins and Dun had RBI singles and CC Witt smashed a bases clearing triple to help pace the inning. Dirt Stars offense really starts to cool down as they score two runs across the next couple innings. Bulldogs continue to produce and score runs every inning and will end up taking this one easy. Bulldogs win 20-6.
