Game #1 – Dirt Stars vs. Hambinos

Hambinos strike first getting runs off a Bradd Gower RBI double and Pat Tobin sac fly right out of the gate. Dirt Stars respond with a run of their own on a Dan Owens fielder’s choice to cut the deficit in half. Neither team scores in the second inning setting up a big two-run inning for Hambinos in the third. Gower was at it again, driving in a run off another double and Matt Hitt had a sac fly pushing their lead up to 4-1. Hambinos break this game open in the fifth as they bat around and push nine runs across. Matt Good smashed in two runs with a two run double and Gower remains to swing the bat well with another double, driving in another two runs. Matt Lyke also added an RBI single in the inning. The final blow of the inning was a three-run bomb from Pat Tobin. Dirt Stars respond big in the sixth inning, finally breaking through with a big inning. Bob McHugh and Shawn Mackley hit back-to-back RBI doubles and later in the inning John Boyle and Joe Tulino have an RBI double and RBI single respectfully. In the end, they score seven runs. Hambinos add an insurance run late and take this game. Hambinos win 14-9.

Game #2 – SCLSU Mud Dogs vs. Dirt Stars

Dirt Stars open up with an early lead after getting three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kevin McNamara had an RBI double and a couple of fielder’s choices netted them a few more runs. Mud Dogs respond in a big way in the top of the second. Chris Refsnider started the scoring with a two run double and a batter later Daulton Pickergill smashed a two run triple. Back to back RBI hits from Evan Figueroa and Matt Graver net them two more runs brining making this a 7-3 game. Home runs were the story for Mud Dogs in the third as they smash two in the inning. Ben Daniels had a solo homer and Kavit Solanki had a two run shot in the inning. This helped push their lead to 11-4. Mud Dogs went right back to to work in the the fourth pushing across five more runs and really looking to end this one early. Trevor Lane helped in the inning with a two run single. Matt Grever puts this game away in the sixth with a two run homer of his own and Mud Dogs win this one easy. Mud Dogs win 20-6.

Game #3 – Birdgang vs. SCLSU Mud Dogs


Jason McLaughlin gets Birdgang on the board first with a two run home run right out of the gate. Trevor Lane responds in the bottom of the inning for Mud Dogs with an RBI single. Birdgang responds immediately with a Andrew Hildenbrane RBI single of his own. Yet again, Mud Dogs responds with another RBI single, this time from Tony Figueroa. Birdgang control the middle innings grabbing three runs across the fourth and fifth inning in this low scoring affair. Mark Rothenberger had an RBI single in the fourth and then John Dougherty and Justin Huber had RBI singles in the fifth. Mud Dogs start producing late grabbing three runs in the sixth, two runs on a double from Tommy Brauer. Mud Dogs go into the last inning down by two and look to get a rally going. In the end, they end up stringing together five straight singles ending with a Jason Figuerora walk off single as they win this one late. Mud Dogs win 8-7.

Game #4 – Bulldogs vs. Birdgang

Anthony Bates leads this game off with a solo homer to give the Bulldogs a spark right out of the gate. Bulldogs add one more run off a couple singles and an error. Birdgang gets one back on a Mike Pittman A Joey Pittman walk and Vinny Juliano fielder’s choice tie this game up in the second. Birdgang take a four run lead in the third after a three run bomb from Mike Pittman and Chucky vile RBI hit. Bulldogs trail in this one until the sixth inning when they finally can pull ahead. Dave Nagle started the inning with an RBI inning and Pete Burns gave them the lead with an RBI double. Bulldogs tack on another two runs in the seventh with RBI singles from John Hogan and John Stover. Birdgang need to come up big in the seventh as they trail by three. Anthony Cilibarte start the scoring in the bottom of the seventh with a two run double and a batter later, Joey Pittman provides the game tying hit with a two run bomb which sends us to extra innings. Birdgang shuts down Bulldogs in the top of the eighth giving them the chance to walk off in this one. Vinny Juliano provides this with a walk off single as they win this in walk off fashion. Birdgang wins 10-9.
