Game 1: Jackhammer’s vs. Randazzo’s Pizza

Jackhammers jump out to a quick lead in the top of the first, plating four on an error, a walk, and four singles. In the bottom of the frame, Anthony Miller cranks a two run homer for Randazzo’s Pizza as they halve their deficit. In the bottom of the second, they tack on another run thanks to an error and Justin Perloff driving in a run on a base knock as Randazzo’s find themselves down by one. In the top of the third, Jackhammers push three runs across the dish thanks to a pair of runs and a pair of singles with Dan Jensen and Tom Lydon collecting RBIs. The next inning, they score two more on three singles and taking advantage of an error. Tom Finn smacked an RBI triple and Brian Pestridge drove in two runs in the top of the fifth as Jackhammers keep pouring it on. In the top of the sixth, Tom Lydon singled in the lone run for Jackhammers that served as the last nail in the coffin. Jackhammers beats up Randazzo’s Pizza 14-3.

Game 2: Jackhammers vs. Hambinos

In the bottom of the first, Hambinos start the scoring with three runs thanks to back to back doubles from Brad Gower and Joe Pizzola. In the top of the second, Jackhammers get on the board with a lone run thanks to a walk and a pair of singles. In the bottom of the frame, Hambinos adds to their lead with a four run inning with Spencer Slutsky roping an RBI double and Brad Gower ripping a two run triple. Down big in the top of the third, Jackhammers explode with a gigantic inning. Drawing two walks to start the inning, they go on to force two errors, walk twice more, hit seven singles, and get run producing doubles from Rob Wardrop, Dan Jensen, and Chris Day as they batted around and scored a whopping 13 runs. Hambinos manage to scrounge up a run in the bottom of the frame on a base knock from Mike Mulvihill as they now find themselves down 14-8. In the top of the fourth, Jackhammers put another three runs on the board on a bases loaded walk, a sac fly, and a pair of base knocks. Tom Finn doubled in the top of the sixth and was driven in by Kevin Rosini as they add another run to their total. Hambinos get their leadoff batter, Boris Fishman, across the dish, but fail to score any more as the game came to a close after six. Jackhammers cruise past Hambinos 18-9.

Man of the Match: Dan Jensen (3-4, R, SF, 2B, 5 RBI)


Game 3: Baron Von Fritz vs. Philly’s Phinest

A pair of walks, a pair of singles, and a sac fly get Baron Von Fritz on the board in the bottom of the first as they score two. In the bottom of the second, they bat around by drawing a walk, poking five singles, getting a two run double from Frankie Fusco, and a two run dinger from Jim Lelit. In the top of the fourth, Philly’s Phinest wake up and score a run as Ray Rocks led off with a double and scored on an error. In the top of the fifth, they push a trio of runs across the dish on a sac fly and with Mike Rocks Sr. ripping a two run double. In the bottom of the frame, Baron Von Fritz matches those three runs as Brandon Rock smoked a double and Chris Salanik smacked a triple. They tack on two more in the bottom of the sixth thanks to Jim Lelit belting another two run dinger. Down big going into the seventh, Philly’s Phinest string together some hits including a Mike Rocks Sr. double and a three run blast from Valentino Mendez,scoring four runs but falling short of a comeback. Baron Von Fritz outscores Philly’s Phinest 14-8.

Game 4: Dirt Stars vs. Magerks

Dirt Stars wins 7-0 by forfeit.
