B North 7/29
Once again the ball was rolled out for the B North division and we take a look at which teams slugged away in the most competitive division in SBA
Game 1: Ballz Deep v Misfits

Ballz Deep got all up in it in the first inning as they plate 3 runs via four singles from the middle of the order and a Sean Butrica double. The Misfits would answer that opening shot with a plethora of singles of their own and a monster triple from Nick Perez to score 5 and take an early lead. Using a similar formula in the 3rd inning BD plate 3 more runs using the single and double formula once again, this time with Gene Walczak seeing 2nd base on his at bat. Following a 3 with a 5, the Misfits once again struck for cinco de runos as they smoked singles and saw Walt Zolna crank a double and Joe Torres a triple. In the 5th the Misfits would string three singles and plate another run to take an 11-6 lead. Down but never out the gritty Balz Deepers bat around and hammer home 11(!) runs in the 6th inning. Highlights included doubles from Geno and Butrica, and a triple from Justin Glennon, combined with a ton of singles. Jimmy Cooker got the Misfits back on the board in th bottom half of the inning with an RBI triple. Ballz Deep would plate 3 more runs in the 7th courtesy of a Jacob McDevitt triple to close the door on this one. Final Score: Ballz Deep 20- Misfits 12

Game 2: One Hit Wonders v Ballz Deep

One Hit Wonders did a ton of damage in this one. In the 1st inning they would get four runs on singles and errors. In the 3rd inning they plate 3 more runs on singles and a Rob Gisondi triple. They would add two more in the 4th via singles and a Josh Parker double. In the 5th inning they scored four more runs on a ton of singles and a Paul Ferruzzi double. The 6th inning saw two more runs cross via a Bill Jones triple, and lastly the 7th saw an outburst for 6 runs on singles, errors and a Ferruzzi triple. Ballz Deep would battle in this one as they are able to score two in the first on an Adrian Reyes triple. They would see a run cros in both the 4th and the 5th innings, one via a double from Andrew Trout and the other via a sac fly. In the 7th they would battle back and plate three runs via singles from the middle of the order but that would be all they could muster in this one. Final Score: OHW 22 - Ballz Deep 7

Game 3: Amber Inn v Dirty Dozen

A slugfest broke out at CB West, as both teams smacked the ball all over the dusty tundra. Amber Inn was able to plate 3 runs in the top of the first as singles, walks and a Phil Klatch double did the damage. The DDs would answer the bell with two runs via a Nick VItelli double and a Angelo V triple. Errors and a Phil “the thrill” Klatch triple propelled Amber Inn to 3 more runs in the top of the 2nd to extend the lead. Following that up they would smack the ball again all over the park in the 3rd inning for 5 runs via the single and a Marc McKinney double. In the bottom of the 4th the DDs would get back on the board as Ben Vitelli annihilated a two run homer and Angelo V smacked his 2nd double of the day, propelling them to three runs. The 6th inning would see each team score two as Kevin Noone lambasted a 2 RBI triple for the Inn and the Nick and Angelo V combo smoked a double and a 2 RBI single respectively for the Dozen. The top of the order would finish the game off for the INN as Corey Carlin and Carl Erwin doubled and Phil Klatch tripled leading to 3 insurance runs. Final Score: Amber Inn 16 - Dirty Dozen 7.

Game 4: Yankee Clippers v Dirty Dozen


The Yankee Clippers got four runs in the 2nd inning via singles and a Mike O’ Conner double. Singles and a fielder’s choice would plate about in the 3rd. Andre O’Donnell hammered a two run homer for the Clips in the 4th and a triple from Nick Todd would pace another two run inning in the 5th, giving them 9 runs on the day. The Dozen did their fair share of damage as well. A head spinning 5 spot in the first launched them out of the gate as Angelo V and Mike Roche doubled and Nick Vitelli crushed a two run homer. Mr. Vitelli struck again in the 2nd inning as he would smoke a 2 RBI double. Heading to the 5th it would be Big Angelo cranking a triple which would lead to two more runs for the DDs. With the game tied going into the bottom of the 7th a leadoff walk would prove to be deadly as Ben Vitelli lasered an RBI single to walk off and win the game for the Dozen. FInal Score: Dirty Dozen 10 - Clippers 9

Game 5: Bulldogs v Yankee Clippers

The Bulldogs jumped right on the scoring train, plating four runs on doubles from CC WItt and Dave Nagle, combined with a three bagger from Mike Suda. Down but not out, the Clippers would take the lead as the cranked the yellow pill all over the yard to the tune of 5 runs, highlighted by a Dan Wilson double and a John Bennett triple. They would jump right back into the fray in the 2nd inning as the Clips would plate 5 additional runs with doubles from Wilson and Bennett, combined with a triple from Andrew Breischraft and an Andre O’Donnell homer. Erik Yauuk smoked a triple and scored for the dogs in the 3rd and in the 4th inning the BDs would strike again as they would plate four more runs by way of doubles from Anthony Bates and Paul Burtis and a triple from Matty Lagomarsino. The Clippers would get a single run in both the 4th and the 5th inning via singles and a double from Andrew Hesdon. In the 5th the BDS would hammer home 5 more runs to give them a slight lead as this time it was Anthony Depaul with a key double and Paul Burtis with a dinger. In the bottom of the 6th the Clippers would battle back once again to take the lead posting three runs on doubles from Bennett and O’Donnell. The Bulldogs would answer the 3 with 3 of their own in the top of the 7th to close the door on this one. Highlights of that rally included singles and a Depaul game winning RBI double. Final Score: Bulldogs 17 - Clippers 15.
