Game 1: Mud Dogs vs. Randazzo’s

Mud Dogs get on the board first in this one with a pair in the top of the second on three singles ad a double off the bat of Sam Matos. Randazzo’s respond in the bottom of the frame, plating a run thanks to Brian Jamison who doubled and later scored ona base knock. Mud Dogs extend their lead in the top of the third by pushing four runs across the dish on a coule singles, a walk, and doubles from Kris Carr and Jason Figureoa. Randazzo’s responds by taking the lead with six suns in the bottom of the third ona walk, four singles, and a Greg Taylor double. In the bottom of the fourth as Anthony Miller smashed a Grand Slam to open the lead even more. Mud Dogs respond in the top of the fifth with Sam Matos smacking an RBI double to help plate three. Randazzo’s then plates a pair on three singles in the bottom of the frame. The scoring would end there as Randazzo’s defeats Mud Dogs 13-9.

Man of the Match: Anthony Miller (3-4, 2 R, GSHR, 6 RBI)


Game 2: Mud Dogs vs. Jackhammers

In the top of the first, Mud Dogs jump out to a three run lead highlighted by Brian Figueroa smacking a two run triple. Jackhammers finally get on the board in the third, plating one run on a bases loaded single off the bat of Kevin Rosini. In the bottom of the fifth, Jackhammers take the lead after a Vince Morgan leadoff double followed by six singles leads to a six run frame. In the bottom of the sixth, they tack on two more on a walk, an error, and a pair of singles. Mud Dogs are silent again in the top of the seventh and they fall to Jackhammers by a score of 9-3.

Game 4: Philly’s Phinest vs. Magerks

Philly’s Phinest plate three in the top of the first with three straight two-out singles and a two run double from Ed Rocks. Magerks responds with a pair off a single, a pair of walks, and a sac fly. In the top of the second, Philly’s Phinest keeps rolling with a four run outing highlighted by a Mike Rocks three run big fly. Magerks get back-to-back doubles from Brian Hilbert and Frank Turco as they add three to their total. Three singles, a sac fly, and a two run double off the bat of substitute Frank Staber gives Philly’s Phinest another four runs in the top of the third. John Green smokes a triple and later scored the only run for Magerks in the bottom of the third. A Ray Rocks leadoff double starts off the top of the fourth for Philly’s Phinest and he would be driven in on a fielder’s choice for the only run of the frame. In the bottom of the fifth, Magerks plate a pair as Steve Korpalski roped an RBI triple and also scored. A sac fly and a double out of super sub Frank Staber add two more runs to Philly’s Phinest’s total. They tack on another run on a sac fly in the top of the seventh to take a 15-8 lead heading into Magerks’ final at bat. Backs against the wall, the team was inspired. Triples from Steve Korpalski, Vinnie DeGideo, and Anthony Madoni help plate three runs, but the comeback was destined to fall short. Philly’s Phinest defeat Magerks 15-9.
