Game 1: Dirt Stars vs. Baron Von Fritz

Dirt Stars get on the board quickly with two in the top of the first thanks to a double from Kurt Siegel and a two-run single from Dan Owens. Baron Von Fritz responds in the bottom of the frame by taking the lead on three runs on an error, a sac fly, and four singles. A Dirt Stars sac fly in the top of the second knots the game up at three. In the top of the third, Dan Owens ropes a two run double to plate two more for Dirt Stars. In the top of the fifth, Brett Rumer leads the inning with a double, then a Kurt Siegel two run triple, and a John Boyle two run bomb plate six for Dirt Stars. They keep rolling in the top of the sixth as Anthony Magallanes singles in a pair and Doug Nalbandian doubles in one. In the top of the seventh, Dirt Stars get a three run dinger off the bat of Dan Owens to go up 17-3. In the bottom of the seventh, Baron Von Fritz hit three straight singles and they plate a run, but they’d come nowhere close to a comeback in this one. Dirt Stars take game one 17-4.


Game 2: Baron Von Fritz vs. Dirt Stars

We’d wait until the bottom of the third inning to see a runner cross the dish in game 2 as Doug Nalbandian tripled and was driven in by Dan Curran. In the bottom of the fourth, Dirt Stars tally six runs on a walk, a sac fly, five singles, a double from Jeff Sywulak, and a triple from Dan Owens. Baron Von Fritz gets on the board with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth with three singles, Steve Hausman collecting an RBI. In the bottom of the inning, Dirt Stars match them with a pair of their own, drawing a walk anid poking three singles. Dirt Stars add an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on a sac fly. In a deep hole in the top of the seventh, Baron Von Fritz starts the inning off with two singles, forcing an error, and poking another single to plate two, but the comeback would fizzle out there. Dirt Stars sweep by winning game 2 by a score of 10-4.
