B North 10/14

In a condensed season, anything can happen, especially when you have high level talent like all of these teams. Let’s take a look at how the North division shook out this week.

Game 1: Yankee Clippers v Amber Inn

In the top of the 1st, the Yankee Clippers jumped into the scoring column as Nick Wasekanes crushed a triple and scored one batter later on a fielder’s choice. Amber Inn would respond in the bottom half of the 1st as they were able to cut the deficit in half with back to back doubles from Dave Graves and Marc McKinney. The 2nd and 3rd innings would belong solely to the Clippers as they are able to squeak out a run in the 2nd on a fielder’s choice and hammer home 5 in the 3rd inning highlighted by a Lonnie Snyder double and a Andrew Breischaft homer. In the top of the 4th they would continue to hammer the ball as Wasekanes would double and score. In the bottom of the 4th, the Inn would rip their way back into the game as they would bat around scoring a hard earned 9 runs. Highlights of their rally include a 3 run bomb from Marc McKinney, a homer from Corey Carlin, a double from John Fine and a homer/double from Bryan McMackin. Each team would plate a run in the 6th inning as Lonnie Snyder homered from the Clippers and McKinney smoked an RBI triple for the Inn. In the top of the 7th the Clippers got a leadoff triple from Nick Todd but that was all they were able to muster.

Final Score: Amber Inn 12 - Yanks 10

Game 2: Yankee Clippers v Dark Horse

Revenge Game: The Yankee Clippers scored their first two runs of the tilt in the 4th inning as Andrew Breischaft smacked an RBI double and scored on a sac. They would plate 4 more runs in the 5th on doubles from Hesdon, McDevitt, Snyder and O’Connor and a triple from Brian Maguire,. Following that rally, they put another big number on the board in the 6th inning as they are able to plate 5 runs on a Mike McDevitt double and homers from Dan Wilson and Andrew Hesdon.
Dark Horse frustrated by last week, hammered home 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st via singles walks and sac flies. They would follow that up by scoring a run in the 2nd on another sac fly and adding a run in the 3rd via 3 singles. In the 5th inning, doubles from Ryan Schock and Alex Amador helped bring in 4 huge runs to keep the game close. Dark Horse would also plate 3 more runs in the 6th inning via the tried and true, hit singles and sac flies method.

Final Score; Dark Horse 14 - Clippers 12

Game 3: Ballz Deep v Dark Horse

Ballz Deep got in the scoring column in the top of the 2nd via doubles from Justin Glennon and Matt Herbein. Answering the call in the bottom half of the inning, the Dark Horse hitting machine brought in 4 runs, highlighted by a Ryan Schock double and a no doubter from Kevin McKeon. Ballz Deep would knot the score in the top of the 4th as doubles from Herbein and Gene Walcizzle combined with 2 sac flies would plate 2 runs. Retaking the lead in the bottom half of the inning the Dark Horse’s scored 3 huge runs via five singles and a sac fly. Ballz Deep would attempt a late inning comeback as Geno smoked a homer in the 7th, but that was all they would be able to muster in this one.

Game 4: Bulldogs v Ballz Deep

The Bulldogs got on the board early as they are able to plate 2 runs by way of back to back extra base hits from Matt Lagomarsino and Mike Suda. Singles would also help the Bulldogs hammer home runs in the 5th and the 6th inning as 3 singles in each inning plated a run.
Ballz Deep, upset over their first game, brought out the hammering pole. A single a walk and two FC’s would plate a run in the top of the 1st. In the 4th inning, a large 3 run outburst saw them grab the lead in this one as Walt Zolna tripled, Herbein doubled and Justin Glennon cranked a two RBI single.
