B North 9/16

It’s football season! Get excited to play with 8 and pull a sub cause Mark and Johnny are season ticket holders and need to tailgate for 10 hours to enjoy a game.

Game 1: Insurance Runs v Yankee Clippers

The Clips get on the goard first as Nick Manini singles and scores in the top of the first. In the bottom half of the inning, slightly hungover Shane Hanna cranks his first homer of the season, giving IR a two run lead. In the 2nd, walks and singles would pave the way for a Nick “the stick” Wasekanes grand salami, vaulting the Clips into the lead. Insurance Runs would knot the score in the bottom half of the inning as singles and a Hanna double plate 3. Singles ad a sac fly would ut the Clips back on top in the 3rd inning, but the rest of the middle of the game would go the way of the Insurance Runs. Walks, singles and a Brian Leonetti double scores 5 runs in the 3rd, singles and doubles from Leonetti and Keith Meduiza plate 5 in the 4th and another Hanna double plates two in the 5th. The Clips would get one run in the 7th but that would be as close as they could get in this one as they fall, 16-7.

Game 2: One Hit Wonders v Misfits

Singles plate two for the Wonders to give them a lead in the top of the first. They would extend their lead in the top of the 2nd as Dan Martin proves he is way too good to be the last hitter in a lineup as he cranks a 3 run homer. Singles and a series of fielder’s choices would get the Misfits on the board with a run in the bottom of the 2nd. Singles would be the theme of the 3rd inning as the Wonders would get a run on 3 singles and the Misfits would plate 3 on 5 of their own. The Misfits woul jump out to a big lead in the 5th inning as they score a whopping 6 runs, highlights including a double from Walt Zolna and a two run bomb from Chris Quinn. The Wonders, down four, would storm back as Derek Strowhauer cranked a two RBI triple in the 7th and scored himself on a single, but that was as close as they would get falling to the Misfits 10-9.

Game 3: Dark Horse v Amber Inn

This was a weird score sheet so bear with me,,,

Dark Horse did most of their damage in the 2nd and 3rd innings. In the 2nd they would plate 4 by way of doubles from Paul and Ryan combined with a homer from Nick (maybe). They followed that up with a huge 7 run 3rd inning highlighted by a bunch of singles and a Billy T double. A triple (?) from Nick M would help push across 3 more runs for Dark Horse in the 4th.
Amber Inn got two runs in the bottom of the first somehow. They followed that up with 6 runs by way of back to back to back (?) homers from Corey Carlin, Marc Mckinney and Dave Graves. They pushed across two more in the third on singles I think. Lastly in the 4th they were able to plate 3 runs from the middle of the order somehow. Final Score: Dark Horse 17 - Amber Inn 13

Game 4: Ballz Deep v Dark Horse

Ballz Deep thrusted their way to an early lead as Jake the snake McDevitt crushed an RBI triple and scored to put the boys in blue and orange up 2. Paul Ferruzzi Jr. got the Horses back into it as his double helped plate a run. Andrew Metz doubled and scored to extend the BD lead in the top of the 2nd. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Horses slid into the lead as they plate 3 runs on singles and walks. Ballz Deep jumped back onto the scoreboard as they plate one in the 4th on a McDevitt double and Gene Walczak triple, and 3 runs in the 5th on a huge Matt Wass three bagger. Walks and singles would negate that 3 run outburst as Dark Horse gets 3 in the bottom half of the inning. A Mcdevitt double and a sac fly would tack on another for BD in the top of the 6th. Using the single and score method, Dark Horse answers once again with 4 runs of their own, giving them a comfortable lead. No lead is comfortable in softball, as Ballz Deep cranks their way to 8 runs in the top of the 7th by way of doubles from McDevitt, Herbein and Butrica, combined with triples from Alex Metz and Adrian Reyes. Final Score in this one, BD 16 - DH 11
