Game 1: Harrigan’s Pub vs. HG Coal Fired Pizza

John Norman got Harrigan’s going with a triple in the top of the first as they add a couple singles and a sac fly to jump out to a three run lead. HG is able to match those three runs on six singles. Harrigan’s retakes their lead by scoring once in each of the top of the second and third innings. Andrew Parker, Ken Stein, and Emilio Medina doubled for HG in the bottom of the fourth while Blake Margot singled in a pair to take a two run lead. In the top of the fifth, back-to-back triples from Greg Thompson and Jay Mykrantz and a Shawn Thome double ties the game at seven. In the bottom of the frame, six HG singles help plate five. In the top of the sixth, Harrigan’s doubles their output with seven runs thanks to Greg Thompson ripping a two run double and Shawn Thome roping a two run triple. In the bottom of the seventh and down two, HG manages a pair of singles, forces an error, and Mike Marcelline smacks a double to tie the game with one out. Shane Arden steps to the plate and provides a walk off base hit to seal the game. HG Coal Fired Pizza completes a 15-14 comeback victory over Harrigan’s Pub.

Game 2: Harrigan’s Pub vs. Hambinos

Harrigan’s gets on the board first with Jay Mykrantz driving in a run with a two out double. In the top of the second, they plate five with John Norman providing a Grand Slam. Still rolling, they bat around in the third and score 10 runs on a walk, an error, a sac fly, eight singles, doubles from Anthony Braciszewski and Rick Branning, all after Greg Thompson’s leadoff homer. In the top of the fourth, Harrigan’s plates one on a few singles and an error. Hambino’s wakes up in the bottom of the fourth, batting around and hitting an impressive five doubles (two from Bill Peters) as they get nine runs on the board. Harrigan’s just keeps smashing in the top of the fifth as they tally eight runs with Tim Charlanzia poking a double and Rick Branning cranking a two run triple. Nick Heller crushes a three run dinger in the bottom of the fifth, but that wouldn’t be enough to extend the game. Harrigan’s smashes Hambinos 25-12.

Game 3: Hambinos vs. Dirty Dozen


Spencer Slutsky started this one off with a double to help Hambinos get on the board with two in the top of the first. A string of two out hits in the bottom of the first including a solo jack from Angelo Vitantonio and doubles from Roc Akers and Kyle Landis plate three for Dirty Dozen. In the top of the second, Bob Gower tripled and scored for Hambinos to tie the game up at 3. Dirty Dozen ended up plating seven in the bottom of the frame as Anthony Mumenthaler smacked a double and Roc Akers roped a triple. Singles total a run for Hambinos in the top of the third. Dirty Dozen keep rolling with a five run frame highlighted by an Angelo Viatantonio double. Chris Jennings’ RBI double accounted for Hambinos lone run of the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, James McHale’s three run bomb helped Dirty Dozen establish a 15 run lead. After Hambinos goes down 1-2-3 in the top of the fifth, the mercy rule is enacted, leaving Dirty Dozen with a 20-5 victory.

Man of the Match: Angelo Vitantonio (2-3, 3 R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI)


Game 4: SCLSU Mud Dogs vs. Baron Von Fritz

Mud Dogs strike first in the top of the opening frame with Mat Greever and Sam Matos smacking doubles to help plate three. They tack four runs onto their total in the top of the second with Kavit Solanki and Sam Matos doubling. Kevin Ladden helps wake up Baron Von Fritz with his bases clearing triple as they bat around in the bottom of the second and score 12 runs. Three more cross the dish for BVF in the bottom of the third on four singles and Brian Hughes’ double. Matt Figueroa smacks a solo big fly to score one for Mud Dogs in the top of the fourth. In the fifht, they manage four more ona walk, singles, and a sac fly. BVF gets a two run dinger from Chris Salanik as they add three. SCLUS gets one more in the top of the sixth, driven in by Josh Figueroa. Jay Payne drove in a pair of runs on a base knock to extend the BVF lead, which would end up being the final runs of the game. Baron Von Fritz shuts down SCLSU Mud Dogs, winning 20-13.

Man of the Match: Chris Salanik (5-5, 3 R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI)

Game 3: Dirt Stars vs. Bulldogs

Dirt Stars force a couple errors in the top of the first, draw a pair of walks, and hit one single to jump out to a four run lead. Bulldogs tie it right up in the bottom of the frame as John Hogan smacked a three run homer. They keep on rolling in the second, this time plating five with John Hogan driving in a couple on his triple. In the bottom of the third, Bulldogs keep rolling as John Hogan provides another highlight by launching his second three run bomb of the game to help score eight more runs. In the top of the fourth, an already shorthanded Dirt Stars team earns themselves two ejections meaning they can no longer field a team. Bulldogs smash Dirt Stars 17-4 in less than 4 innings.
