B North 10/6

Swirling winds, kinda chilly but also kinda super nice weather, intense softball action… must be the fall season.

Game 1: Amber Inn v One Hit Wonders

Amber Inn leapt into the scoring column as four straight singles plate two runs in the top of the first. They followed they up with a run in the 2nd on singles as well, and in the third hammered home a huge 3 runs as Jeff Johnson and Jack McKinney doubled, while Marc McKinney crushed a triple. They would cap their scoring on the day as singles and errors plate 2 more runs in the top of the 5th.
One Hit Wonders were wonderful in this one as they scored in every inning. In the first they cut the deficit with a run via singles. They would knot the score in the 2nd on two more singles and and error. Walks, singles and errors pave the way to a huge 3rd inning which propelled them into the lead. That lead grew by a bunch as they hammer home a whopping 8 runs in the 4th inning, highlighted by a Jack Stepnowski two bagger. Big Derek Strowhauer clobbered an RBI double in the 5th and scored on a single one batter later to extend the lead. They would polish off the scoring with two runs in the 6th by way of the single once again.

Final Score: OHWs 19- Amber Inn 8

Game 2: Ballz Deep v One Hit Wonders

In a hotly contested rivalry game, Ballz Deep got on the board first with singles bringing in a run in the top of the 1st. They would hammer home three more runs in the 2nd as Alex Metz smokes a leadoff double and some help from errors paves the way. Singles remained the story for Ballz Deep as they smoke five in the 4th scoring 5 runs and a whopping eight singles in the 5th leading to 8 runs. They would cap their scoring on the morning in the 7th as Alex Metz aka Mr. Double, smoked his 2nd of the day and scored a batter later.
One Hit Wonders jumped out to an early lead in this one as 3 singles and a Rob Gisondi triple plate three runs in the bottom of the first. They got back in the scoring column in the 4th inning emphatically as they plate four runs on singles and a Gisondi double. Rob “King extra base hit” GIsondi sparked the scoring again in the 7th as he doubled in another run but that was as close as the Wonders could get in this one.

FInal Score: Ballz Deep 18 - OHWs 8
Game 3: Misfits v Yankee Clippers
The B North division got lost on street road and ended up playing a game at the Quarry. The Yankee Clips got on the board first in this one as they plate four runs in the top of the first via singles and errors. They would extend their lead in the 2nd as Kevin Tershman doubled and Nick Wasekanes went Yahtzee. Continuing to hammer away they would plate 3 more in the 3rd via singles and a Lonnie Snyder two bagger. Singles finally helped the Misfits take the lid off the plate in the bottom of the third as they plate two to cut into the deficit. Each team would sneak across a run in the 4th by way of errors. The 5th and 6th innings belonged to the Misfits as they are able to plate 5 runs over that span with the help of a big Walt Zolna double. In the 7th things got a little crazy… the Clippers hammer home 5 runs on singles and another double from big Kev to go up 15-8. The Misfits in a last ditch effort, hammer home all seven needed runs to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th as Zach Downs, Zolna, and Joe Torres all double combined with triples from Tim Graf, Rico Jones and Glen Davis to do the damage. FREE SOFTBALL, as in the 8th inning the Clips plate a huge 5 runs by way of walks singles and a John Bennett triple. Not to be outdone, the extra base hit parade continued for the Misfits as Jimmy Cooker, Joe Torres and Tim Graf smoke doubles, plating the 5 runs necessary to preserve the tie!

FInal Score: 20-20 tie

Game 4: Insurance Runs v Dark Horse

In a trip to the launching pad known as Hatfield, Jim Walker got the party started for Dark Horse as he doubles and scores to give them an early 1 run lead. The Insurance Runs bamboozled the defense in the bottom half of the inning as they smoke home 5 runs via singles and doubles from Dan Miller and Rich Leonetti. Walks singles and a Rich Mariano double cut the deficit to one as the Horses plate 3 in the top of the 2nd. Continuing to hammer the ball, the IRs plate 5 more in the bottom half of the inning by way of a Josh Hammum double and a Seth Mattleman triple. Dave Ketterlinus and Ryan Schock would each double from DH in the 3rd, plating a run. Answering once again the IRs snag two runs on singles and errors. Five straight singles plate 4 for the Horses in the fourth but the IRs answer once again with two more runs on a Joe Rowan double. Down 14-9 the Horses would attempt a comeback over the last 2 innings as Schock and Mariana both double and score in the 6th to make it 14 to 11 and they are able to hammer home a run in the 7th on errors, but that would be as close as they could get in this one.
