B North 10/13

Sundays are for the boys of B North….

Game 1: Amber Inn v Yankee Clippers

The Yankee Clippers leapt into the scoring column as Nick Wasekanes launches a two run dinger to plate two runs in the top of the first. Amber Inn would answer immediately as they use four singles and 2 fielder’s choices to knot the score. A Lonnie Snyder double would put the Clips back in front as a run scored but that lead was short lived as the boys of Amber Inn smashed home 12 runs in a bat around which saw the Clips give out doubles like Oprah giving out cars at Christmas as doubles from Kevin Noone, John Fine, Tom Fredericks, Jeff Johnson, Corey Carlin, and John Graves, combined with a triple from Bruce Snyder and a homer from someone named Noone to do the damage. Wasekanes would launch a solo bomb for his 2nd of the game in the 3rd to battle back into the game, but a sac fly from Amber Inn would cancel that out. Amber Inn would extend their lead in the 4th as BRUUUUUUCE Snyder doubled and scored. The Clippers would battle back scoring in each of their last three at bats including 3 in the 5th with help of a Kevin Teichman double, two in the 6th on a Teichman triple, and four in the 7th on singles. Unfortunately that rally was not enough as Amber Inn plated 3 more in the 5th on singles and walks and that proved to be enough for them in this one.

Final Score: Amber Inn 22 - Yankee Clippers 13

Game 2: Yankee Clippers v Dark Horse

The Clips had a tough one in the 2nd game of their double header. They would plate a run in the 1st on walks and a John Bennett sac fly. A fielder’s choice, an error and a walk would plate another in the 2nd. Unfortunately that was all they could must in this one as the rest of the game belonged to the horses. In the first, DH plates 4 on a double from Nick Mariana and triples from Paul Ferruzzi and Zack “attack” Adams. In the 3rd inning they would score a whopping 15 runs on a ton of walks, singles and a Ferruzzi homer. Capping their scoring for the day Dark Horse got homers from Paul Harding and Nick Mariana in the 4th to lock in a win.

Final Score: Dark Horse 22 - Yankee Clippers 2

Game 3: One Hit Wonders v Insurance Runs

In a battle of the big dogs of B North, One Hit Wonders got on the board first as an Andy Springer triple sparked a 3 run inning. The Insurance Runs cut into the deficit in the bottom half of the inning as a double from Shane Donehue and a sac fly brought in two runs. Singles would extend the lead for OHWs in the 2nd as they plate a run but that was quickly erased as the IRs hammered one home as well with singles and a walk. In the top of the 3rd, Bill Groff stroked a triple and scored on a sac fly to again put the OHWs up two. Down but never out, the IRs hammered home 4 runs to take their first lead of the game as Keith Maduiza tripled and Dan Miller doubled. Answering the bell once again, the OHWs plate two in the 4th on singles but that was as much as they would get as the rest of this one went to the boys of IR. They would plate 1 in the 4th on singles, 3 in the 5th on doubles from Shane Donahue, Matt “the bat” Hickey, and Seth Mattemen, and one in the 6th on doubles from Brian Leonetti and Brandon Quinn.

Final Score: Insurance Runs 12 - One Hit Wonders 7

Game 4: Ballz Deep v Misfits

Ballz Deep got the scoring started in the top of the first as singles and fielder’s choices brought in a run. They would extend their lead in the 2nd as a sac fly brought in a 2nd run. Knotting the score in the bottom half of the inning, as a Joe Shideh double brought in two. The rest of this one went the way of Ballz Deep. They would score 2 in the 4th on a Geno homer. Following that up they would plate 4 in the 5th on singles, and 9 in the 6th highlighted by homers from Jim Gorman and Matt Nixon.

Final Score: Ballz Deep 17 - Misfits 2
