Game #1 – Dirty Dozen vs. Hambinos

Hambinos explode right out of the gate sending 11 batters to the plate. Matt Schalck gets the party started with an RBI single, followed by a Pat Tobin two run double. Joe Pizzola and Mike Mulvihill provide RBI hits in the inning as well as Hambinos grab an early 7-0 lead. Dirty Dozen responds immediately as they bat around in the bottom half of the inning. Sean Taylor and Jaden Newman start the scoring with back-to-back RBI singles. A number of hits follow which helps continue the inning leading to a Colin Tosti two run double. The inning ends with Dirty Dozen leading 10-7, quite the offensive start for both teams. The teams both started so hot, that it was inevitable for a quiet second as neither team scores. Dirty Dozen gets going again in the third, pushing across another six runs and taking a 16-7 lead. James McHale helped them with a two run single and Tosti added another two run single, his second of the game. Both teams grab a couple more runs the next couple innings, but this game is then taken over by Dirty Dozen with a massive inning, a fifteen run fifth to be exact. Todd Gibson highlighted the inning with a bases clearing double and two run single as Dirty Dozen run away with this one. Dirty Dozen win 32-10.

Player of the Game:
Colin Tosti (Dirty Dozen) – 4/4 2B, 6 RBI’s

Game #2 – Philly Phinest vs. Dirt Stars

As we saw in the storyline for the first game, Philly’s Phinest comes out swinging the sticks very well. Philly bats around and grabs nine runs right off the bat. Valentino Mendez smacked a two run double and Mike Rocks Jr. smashed a grand slam in the inning. Dirt Stars respond with a massive inning as well, as they sending 17 batters to the plate! Walks and singles were the story for their offense as well as a bases clearing double from Nick Coccia and two run double from Dan Owens. After this 25 minute inning ends, the Dirt Stars lead 13-9. Both teams cool down for a couple of innings before Dirt Stars ramp up again. Dirt Stars explode for six more runs in the fifth inning. Dan Currah clears the bases in the inning to help give Dirt Stars the increased lead. In the end, Dirt Stars stays hot and Philly cools down. Dirt Stars win 22-12.

Player of the Game:
Dan Currah (Dirt Stars) – 1/3, 2B, sac fly, 4 RBI’s

Game #3 – Palz Tap House vs. Amber Inn

After a crazy couple of games, Palz and Amber get going in this one very slow. Amber manage to grab two runs early from a Sean Pena RBI single and error. This is where the game really slows as both pitchers and fielders behind them start to step up. After a number of great defensive plays and good show of pitching, we stand at 2-0 after four innings of play, in favor of Amber Inn. Palz finally get on the board in the fifth. Leo Pagan started the scoring with an RBI single followed by a two run single from Casey Long. A couple of batters later, Alex Freeman knocked in two with a two run triple and the inning ends with a two run bomb from Pete Herbert. Amber Inn are able to respond with two runs in the sixth from back to back RBI doubles from John Graves and John Fine. Unfortunetly, this is all Amber Inn can muster and they will lose this one. Palz wins 7-4.

Player of the Game:
Pete Herbert (Palz) – 3/4, HR, 2 RBI’s

Game #4 – Muddogs vs. Dirt Stars

Muddogs get rolling early with a solo bomb from Jason Figueroa. Josh Figueroa grabs one more late in the inning on a sac fly giving them a 4-0 lead. Dirt Stars respond fast as they have all day, yet again, exploding for 11 runs as they bat around again. Muddogs struggle with walks in the inning, as Dirt Stars draw seven in the inning. Doug Nalbandian and Jerry White both knock in two runs in the inning. Dirt Stars stay hot in the second and get another five runs from walks and singles again. Muddogs are not going quietly as they fight back for fourteen runs in the third and fourth inning as they go back and forth with the Dirt Stars. Matt Greener highlighted with a three run homer and two run double across the innings as well as Charlie Hooker who smashed a two run homer and RBI single. Dirt Stars added five runs across that timeframe as well and hold a 21-18 lead as we continue late in the game. Unfortunetly for Muddogs, too much time has passed in the innings and we will have to end this one early. Dirt Stars win 21-17.

Player of the Game:
Jerry White (Dirt Stars) – 3/4, 2 RBI;s

Player of the Week:
Colin Tosti (Dirty Dozen) – 4/4 2B, 6 RBI’s
