Week 2 of the WILD WILD B West!

Sons of Pitches (A) vs MaGerks (H)

Sons of Pitches capitalize on a few walks to get an early run in the 1st. MaGerks responds with a Jeff Tongue BOMB deep into the trees at the HAT. 1-1 after 2 innings. MaGerks would continue scoring in the 3rd with back to back doubles by Denny Nicholson and Captain Jim Malloy to take a 3-1 lead after 3. Sons of Pitches answered with 3 of their own with only 1 hit, 3 straight errors from MaGerks all 3 runs! Down 4-3 in the bottom of the 4th MaGerks woke up the sticks, Houser led the inning off with a double and scored, Will "The Thrill" Clarke launched a 3 run SMASH HR to cap the scoring. 7-3 MaGerks. Jeff Tongue launched his second of the day in the 5th and Danny Nicholson had a 2 run triple in the 6th as MaGerks rolls by Sons of Pitches.

HG Coal Fired Pizza (A) vs Birdgang (H)

HG started the fire early with 2 first inning Home Runs from Justin Knapp and Brendan Parker to take a 4-0 lead. Bird Gang got 2 back with a handfull of singles. Justin Knapp extended the lead with his 2nd Home Run in the 2nd inning, but the key is, this home run was their 3rd at the Hat, which sometimes causes a team to change their swing early in the game. Bird Gang went quiet in the 2nd. 6-2 HG after 2. HG would not score another run for the rest of the game however Bird Gang scored 2 in the 3rd and 8 in the 4th, Big Jim smashed a double and Joey Pittman put a ball into another zip code for the big blows of the big 4th inning for the gang. Big Jim SMASHED a 2 run homer in the 6th that still hasnt landed. Bird Gang crushes HG Coal Fired Pizza

HG Coal Fired Pizza (A) vs Hattricks (H)

When a team has a double dip at the Hat, it's almost always bad news for the team playing them game 2 as players adjust to the Home Run rule. Hattricks however was the only team that scored in the 1st off of singles and walks. HG got on the board in the 2nd with a Tyler Cohen double but Hattricks went OFF in the 2nd batting around scoring 8 with a Home Runs from Josh Graef and Kris Cassel along with a double from Basil Papanicolopoulos to take a 10-2 lead after 2. HG with their backs against the wall finally woke up from last seasons championship hangover, who other than Brendan Parker started the rally with a 2 run blast. Hattricks didn't stop as they scored about 5 runs in the 3rd Tyler Roetman hit a solo then they scored 4 more runs by singles! HG down 15-4 was down, but they sure weren't out, when HUGE innings happen its normally started by the bottom getting on base and they delivered, 6 straight players reached base before the 1st out, then 3 more singles before the 2nd out, a huge 3 run blast by Tyler Cohen capped the scoring for a monster 10 run 4th inning to make it a 15-14 game. Jay Stein scored the tieing run in the 5th 15-15. Hattricks slowed down but HG had another huge inning in the 6th, leaving their Home Runs until late, Tyler Cohen homered again, Jay Stein hit a 2 run bomb also to lead to a 4 run 6th and that would be enough to get HG the win.

Wild Fire (A) vs Jackhammers (H)

Wild Fire started the game on fire with 2 doubles and 4 runs in the top of the first, Chris Amendolia and Dave Archer were the providers on this pop. Jackhammers answered in the bottom with 4 of their own, Zach Lyall set the table with a double followed by 4 singles. Wild Fire was hosed down a bit for several innings but the Jackhammers kept hammering away, 4 more in the 3rd for the Hammers the big blow being a BIG Z 3 run blast, you knew it went far because their ain't a fence and Big Z is as fast as I am... Singles led to 2 more in the 4th... singles led to 3 more in the 5th.. 13-4 Jackhammers headed to the 7th and Anthony Amendolia crushed a 2 run blast to make it 13-6 but not enough as the Jackhammers put out the Wild Fire.
