Game 2: Insurance Runs v Misfits


The Misfits scored 2 in the first via a double from Chris Quinn. They would hammer home 3 more in the 3rd as Joe Torres launched a long fly into the depths of the trees at Hatfield. Rounding out their scoring for the day they score two runs in the 5th on singles. Despite giving up a few, this game belonged to the Insurance Runs. They would almost complete the double bat around in the 1st inning, scoring 14 runs, highlighted by a gaggle of singles and laser beam homers from Matt “the professor” Hickey and Brendan Quinn. They followed that up adding 2 in the 2nd on a Shana Hanna double, and another in the 3rd on a triple from Quinn. After a few quiet innings they would bat around again, capping the scoring with 10 runs in the 6th inning on singles, walks, a Mattleman three bagger and another Hatfield homer from park legend Hanna.

Final Score: Insurance Runs 27 - Misfits 7


Game 3: Yankee Clippers v Misfits


The Clips got off early in the one as Kai Browner hammered a homer in the top of the first. They would follow that up in the 3rd inning plating 5 with singles and a John Bennett double. Nicky Wass smoked an RBI double for the boys in the 5th inning and they would follow that up with another 4 runs in the 6th on Kai’s 2nd homer of the game and doubles from Bennett and speedster Andre O’ Donnell. The Dark Horse squad found the Hatfield curse as they struggled to score. They were able to get one in the 2nd on a Ryan Schock homer, 3 in the 4th on a Nick Mariani homer, a run in the 5th on singles and a run in the 6th on a Mariani double.

Final Score: Yankee Clippers 11 - Dark Horse 6


Game 4: Ballz Deep v One Hit Wonders

Ballz Deep began the day hot as they plate 4 in the first on singles, walks and a Falcone homer. They followed that up with a run in the 2nd on a Matt Nixon double. Continuing to move men around the bases they would score 1 in the 4th, 3 in the 5th, one in the 6th and 2 in the 7th all on singles, showing great plate discipline and bat control. The One Hit Wonders cut into the deficit in the 1st as they scored 3 on singles and a Jack Stepnowski double. They would add 3 more in the 3rd on doubles from Colby Schoeller and Jesse Grasso. Bad Mr. Schoeller added two more for the OHWs in the 5th as he launched a two run dinger. They would follow that up with a run in the 6th on singles and two in the 7th on doubles from Schoeller and Stepnowski, but that would be all they are able to muster in this one.
