Game #1 – Palz Tap House vs. Dirt Stars

Palz get the playoffs started with an RBI single from Kyle Greener giving them an early 1-0 lead. Dirt Stars come back right away getting a two run double from Shawn Mackley. Neither team scores over the next couple of innings as the lock down defensively. Palz grab the lead again in the fourth after a two run bomb from Pete Herbert and RBI double from Bob Jacob. Once again that lead is short lived as Dirt Stars push four runs across on a Kevin Macnamara RBI double, Dan Owens sac fly and a couple errors. Herbert wanted none of that as he smacks another homer his second of the game an inning later to give Palz the lead once again. Palz go up 10-8 heading into the bottom of the seventh after Herbert went deep for the third time in the game. Macnamara gets Dirt Stars to within a run with a bases loading walk sending Dan Owens to the plate. Owens delivers with a walk off two run single and Dirt Stars will move on. Dirt Stars win 11-10.

Mud Dogs take the lead in the fifth getting a big solo homer from Charlie Hooker as well as an RBI triple from Brian Figueroa. Mud Dogs really start to take control of this game in the sixth grabbing four more runs thanks to Hooker this time delivering a two run double. Dirty Dozen come out of the gate sluggish, as they cannot push any runs across for the first inning. Dirty Dozen gets on the board with a run in the second before they explode in the third inning. Errors hurt Dirt Stars in the inning as they allow nine runs in total as Dirty Dozen looks to take control. Alex Amador had a big three-run homer in the inning.
