Game 1: Cifelli’s Sunoco vs. Yankee Clippers
Cifelli’s Sunoco quickly jumped out to a big lead in the top of the first as they almost batted around twice and scored 11 runs. They drew six walks, forced two errors, poked three singles, and got homers from Blake Hildbrandt and Toby Coleman. In the bottom of the first, the Yankee Clippers got a run on a pair of walks and an error. Sam Ryan smashed a two run dinger in the top of the second for Cifelli’s. Clippers started to claw their way back in the bottom of the second as they plated four runs on a walk and five singles. Batting around again in the top of the third, Cifelli’s got doubles from Blake Hildbrandt and Sam Ryan, a triple and a two run dinger from Mike Cifelli, plus another two run bomb from Toby Coleman. Nick Wasekanes launched a two out Grand Slam to help the Yankee Clippers to a six run bottom of the third. For the third time this game, Cifelli’s managed to bat around, this time totalling 11 runs and featuring doubleds off the bats of Nick Agzkio and Chris Lento and a three run big fly from Toby Coleman. A pair of walks and a few singles led to a pair of runs for the Yankee Clippers in the bottom of the fourth, but it wouldn’t be enough to fend off the mercy rule. Cifelli’s Sunoco smashed the Yankee Clippers 33-13.

Man of the Match: Toby Coleman (5-5, 5 R, BB, 3 HR, 7 RBI)

Game 2: Sons of Pitches vs. Dirt Stars
In the top of the first, Sons of Pitches got off to a good start by drawing a couple of walks, smacking a few base hits, and using a sac fly to score two runs. Dirt Stars responded in the bottom of the frame by poking a single, drawing four walks, and getting a two run bomb from Charlie Hooker to take a two run lead. In the bottom of the second, they batted around by drawing a whopping eight walks, smacking a single, and Charlie Hooker doubling to plate seven. Dirt Stars kept rolling in the bottom of the third as Charlie Hooker and John Boyle roped doubles to help score five more runs. A walk and a forced error meant Sons of Pitches got back on the board with a run in the top of the sixth. In the bottom of the frame, Dirt Stars started the inning with a single and double which set the stage for Kevin McNamara’s single that scored both runners and ended the game due to the mercy rule. Dirt Stars roll past Sons of Pitches, winning 18-3.

Man of the Match: Charlie Hooker (3-4, 3 R, 2-2B, HR, 2 RBI)

Game 1: MaGerk’s Pub vs. Dave & Confused
An error, two walks, two base knocks, and a Mark McKinney double got Dave & Confused out to a five run lead in the bottom of the first. The next inning, they scored four more, highlighted by a Craig Clemente double and Kyle Penderanzi triple. Byron McMackin led the bottom of the third off by roping a double, then Dave & Confused followed that with a walk, three singles, and a sac fly to score three. In the bottom of the fourth, they kept rolling as Mark McKinney and Byron McMackin each ripped doubles to plate another three runs. After MaGerks were held scoreless again in the top of the fifth, this game would end early due to the mercy rule. Dave & Confused shut out MaGerk’s Pub 15-0.

Man of the Match: Byron McMackin (3-3, 2 R, 2-2B, 4 RBI)

Game 2: Sunday Scaries vs. MaGerks
Sunday Scaries took a quick four run lead in the top of the first thanks in large part to Josh Persing and Zack Downs each bringing runs in with doubles. Andrew Coates extended their lead in the top of the second with a two run big fly. In the top of the third, Matt Horn doubled to lead off the inning, then Bobby Scholly knocked him in to bring their lead to seven. In the bottom of the frame, MaGerk’s worked a walk, poked a few singles, and used a sac fly to get on the board with a pair of runs. After drawing three walks, Pat Deacon drove in a pair of runs with a two out base knock for Sunday Scaries in the top of the fourth. Bobby Scholly and Zack Downs each smacked a two run dinger in the top of the fifth, extending Sunday Scaries’ lead by four. In the top of the sixth, five singles and a sac fly plate added four runs to the Sunday Scaries total. After MaGerk’s failed to score in the bottom of the sixth, yet another game today ends by enacting the mercy rule. Sunday Scaries defeats MaGerk’s Pub 17-2.

Man of the Match: Bobby Scholly (3-4, 2 R, HR, 5 RBI)

Game 3: Sunday Scaries vs. Philly’s Phinest
Two sacrifice flies in the top of the first got Sunday Scaries off to a quick two run lead. In the bottom of the frame, Philly’s Phinest drew a walk and smacked five singles to plate four and take a lead. A Zack Downs leadoff double, four walks, and a couple errors combined with Josh Persling smashing a three run bomb as Sunday Scaries scored eight runs in the top of the second. Doubles from Dan McIntyre and Sean Boyle helped Philly’s Phinest score four in the bottom of the second before they scored another in the bottom of the third to find themselves just one run down after three. In the top of the fourth, Sunday Scaries doubles off the bats of Andrew Coates and Matt Horn as they plate four, extending their lead. Singles and folder’s choices led to a run for Philly’s Phinest in the bottom of the frame. Andrew Coates provided a bases-loaded triple in the top of the fifth to help score another four runs for Sunday Scaries. In the bottom of the sixth, Philly’s Phinest smack five singles while Brian Constantine ripped a triple to score five runs. In their final turn at the dish, Philly’s Phinest drew three walks and poked two singles to score a pair of runs, but their comeback would fall just one run short in the end. Sunday Scaries edges out Philly’s Phinest, winning 18-17.
